PAGE 13. 49th Reunion is a hit in Blyth once again Another great weekend It was a great weekend for a Reunion and Blyth pulled it off in a fantastic way. Clockwise, from top: Tom Maltby and Country Grass were performing on Friday afternoon just before the opening ceremonies of the 49th annual Huron Pioneer Thresher and Hobby Association Reunion were held; horses that were part of a demonstration at the Reunion and took a quick break to chow down on some corn between shows on Friday; the Teeswater Pipe Band was on hand on Saturday at the Reunion, performing twice throughout the day for the lucky fans; students from across the county got to experience old-fashioned, manual, hand- powered methods of everything from separating cream to shucking corn at the Reunion; all sorts of engines were on display at the Reunion, including antique steam engines; the Bluewater Shriners were frying up a great meal at the Blyth Lions Park during the Reunion on Friday. The funds from the dinner support Shriners Hospitals, and the funds needed to transfer patients there and the children’s special events were a popular attraction once again this year. Here eight-year-old Alexander Ormon of Port Elgin took the leap and gave the rope bridge a try. (Jim Brown, Denny Scott and Shawn Loughlin photos)
