Once again 4-H Ontario can befound at Canada’s Outdoor FarmShow (COFS) Sept. 14-16 under the4-H Pavilion where the focusmessage is: 4-H & Farm Safety, making strides to keep youth and
their families safe. The 17th edition
of the nation’s premier outdoor
agricultural trade show, the place
“where farmers meet™” is only
weeks away. More than 43,800
attendees are expected to visit 700
exhibitors over the course of threedays and 4-H is proud to be includedin this event. The partnership between Canada’sOutdoor Farm Show and 4-HOntario began more than 15 years
ago with the inaugural Outdoor
Farm Show held in Burford, Ontario.
Throughout the years 4-H has been
involved in various activities at
COFS from coffee delivery to
selling merchandise. A fundraising
auction was held in 2005 to mark 4-H Ontario’s 90th anniversary. In2006, COFS designated a buildingon-site as the 4-H Ontario Pavilion,establishing a permanent home for4-H during the show. In 2009, 4-H
Ontario was honoured to officially
open the show.
“4-H has been built on
partnerships,” says 4-H Ontario
Executive Director, Lyndon Stewart.
“Thanks to great partnerships like
this, 4-H Ontario will continue its 95year old legacy of youth leadershipdevelopment.”“Many of our team members atCanada’s Outdoor Farm Show, including myself, were once 4-
Hers,” says Doug Wagner, Vice-
President of Park Logistics and
Auctions Canada’s Outdoor Shows
Limited. “We know how the
organization inspires youth to
develop outstanding leadership
skills and we also understand that
today’s 4-H members are
tomorrow’s farm managers – and
customers for our sponsors.”
Visitors and exhibitors to the
CIBC-sponsored tent will have the
opportunity to visit the vast array of
hands-on farm safety displays
provided by the Canadian
Agricultural Safety Association
(CASA) that echo the 4-H Ontario
theme of farm safety. Youth and their
families will also be able to view
farm safety messages created by 4-H
members, learn more about 4-H
programs, activities, events, camps
and conferences, and the
partnerships that help make the 4-H
display possible. In addition they
will be able to purchase a 2011
Dream Dinner Lottery ticket as well
as 4-H merchandise.

Myrtle and Larry Badley have
returned home from their trip to
Newfoundland. The weather was
perfect as they visited with friends
and family.
Where did our summer go! I know
where half of mine went. We have
enjoyed a very hot summer. Labour
Day has come and gone and the kids
are back to school. Some to a new
school, some riding the bus for first
time and some to the senior grades
will have new experiences.
With the Thresher Reunion this
weekend, Blyth becomes a town of
thousands. Welcome to those who
have come to our friendly village.
Although we are a small village, we
are mighty.
Some dates to remember for Blyth
United Church are that there will be
no church service on Sunday, Sept.
12. The congregation is invited to
the service at the Thresher
Reunion.
Don’t forget the Blyth Christian
Reformed Church is organizing a
social evening as a farewell for
Pastor John Kuperus and his family
on Sept. 10 at 7:30 p.m. at the Blyth
Public School. Everyone is
welcome.

Walking with God
(J.R. Miller, “In Green Pastures” 1890)
“Direct my footsteps according to Your Word; let no sin rule over me.” Psalm 119:133
This is a prayer which should always be on our lips. We should get our direction from
God, not once in our life only, when we first give ourselves to Him; not at the opening
of each day only, as we go forth to the day’s task; not merely at the beginning of each
new piece of work or of each fresh task — but every moment, for each step.
That is what “walking with God”means.
We may make this so real, that we shall look up into God’s face continually, asking,
“What next, dear Lord? What shall I do now? Which course shall I take today? How
shall I do this duty?”
If we can but have God’s guidance and help for the little short steps — we need not fear
for the long miles — the great stretches of road. If each step is of His directing — the
long miles will be paths of His choosing.
