NEWS
FROM AUBURN
There was a marvelous turn out on
Sunday, August 15 in Auburn at the
Family Fun Day which included
events for all.
All the proceeds from the day
went to the Popp family after their
home was destroyed in a fire earlier
this summer. The events included a
live band that featured some
acoustic music from Travis and Kim
Teed as well as a DJ service, which
was provided by The Neat Guys.
The events included a silent
auction, barbecue, 50/50 draw and
outdoor activities for the children.
Many thanks go out to the Auburn
Lions Club, Scrimgeour’s Food
Market, Huron Pioneer Thresher
and Hobby Association, Val
Mallough, Randy Marriage, the
Town of Goderich, Foodland in
Clinton and Precision Print.
The Huron Chapel Evangelical
Church had its youth “Amazing
Race” event. The highlights of this
event included two male teams and
one female team. The girls came in
second, as one of the male teams
came in first. A volunteer leader
participated in the games and
motivated the teams with his
fabulous purple hair.
A reminder that on Saturday there
is an adult fellowship corn roast and
bonfire at Ray and Wilma
Rammeloo’s home. You are invited
to come for an evening of great food
and fellowship. There will be a corn
roast from 6 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. then a
bonfire from 8 p.m. to 10 p.m.
For more details please contact
the church.
The village of Auburn had had a
recent facelift. The hill at the west
end of the village had deteriorated
with the growth of weeds and grass
and we were pleasantly surprised to
see two former residents cutting the
hillside last week.
These two young men cut the
grass when they were on a visit to
their parents’ house.
The west end of the village is now
much more inviting to visitors and
residents alike.
Thanks guys, we really appreciate
your thoughtfulness.
