Total receipts for Brussels
Livestock for the week ending July
23 were 2,043 cattle, 729 lambs and
goats. On Tuesday fed steers and
heifers sold on a strong active trade
at steady prices. Choice steers and
heifers sold $94 to $98 with sales to
$101.75. Second cut sold $92 to $94.
Cows sold on a strong active trade.
On Thursday heavy holstein veal
sold on a good strong active trade
selling $2 to $5 higher, where light
veal sold steady. Heavy lambs sold
$5 to $10 lower, where light lambs
sold steady. Sheep and goats sold
steady. On Friday calves and
yearlings sold on a strong active
trade.
There were 182 steers on offer.
Tom Dickson of Stratford, consigned
seven steers averaging 1,369 lbs.
selling for an average of $99.99 with
four limousin steers averaging 1,404
lbs. selling to Horizon Meats for
$101.75.

consigned four steers averaging
1,528 lbs. selling for an average of
$97.06 with one limousin steer
weighing 1,435 lbs. selling to

with one black cow weighing 1,415
lbs. selling for $71.50. John

offer. Beef sold $100 to $125 with

$85 with sales to $99; medium
holstein, $60 to $70; heavy holstein,
