So much to see
Brussels FunFest wrapped up another successful year over the weekend with thousands of
people out enjoying all that Brussels had to offer. Clockwise, beginning above: the Brussels
Legion hosted a euchre tournament; children from Kid’s Corner, the Vacation Bible School
held annually at the Brussels Mennonite Fellowship sang for the audience at Sunday’s church
service; Peter Allison was on cutting duty at Saturday night’s beef barbecue, which was
hosted by the Brussels Agricultural Society; Charles Corbett donated two years worth of beard
growth to his wife Abi and her Relay For Life team Abi’s Angels; Sue McNeil won the $1,000
prize from the Brussels Lions as a result of a draw, as the river was too high to host the annual
duck race. Greg Ducharme of the Lions Club accepted the prize on McNeil’s behalf. The ticket
was pulled by Nora Stephenson; plenty of people were ready to buzz off for cancer with
Melinda TenPas, left, shaving the head of Avery McArter and Janice Machan, right, shaving
Owen Newell’s head. (Vicky Bremner photos)
