BELL, Jean. In loving memory of a
dear wife, mother, grandmother and
great-grandmother who passed away
July 4, 2000.
Every day, in some small way,
Memories of you come our way,
Though absent, you are in every
way,
Still missed, still loved and ever
dear.
– Love Wallace, Sharon and Frank,
Mark and Kris, Kylin, Dean, Wayne
and Kari. 26-1p

CALDWELL. In loving memory of
my dear husband, Ralph who passed
away June 30, 1999.
Down the path of memories,
I gently trod today,
For my thoughts are always with
you,
As life goes on its way.
As I journey towards life’s sunset,
Mourning you who’s gone before,
Faith keeps saying you'll be with
him,
When you reach the other shore.
– Sadly missed by wife, Gladys.

CALDWELL. In loving memory of
a dear father, grandfather and great-
grandfather, Ralph Caldwell who
passed away June 30, 1999.
Your gentle face and patient smile,
With sadness we recall,
You had a kindly word for each,
And died beloved by all.
– Love your family. 26-1p
SNELL. In loving memory of Ernest
Snell who passed away July 1, 2008.
You did so many things for us,
Your heart was kind and true,
And when we needed someone,
We could always count on you.
The special years will not return,
When we were all together,
But memories will last forever.
Always in our hearts,
Forever in our minds.
– Remembered by Anna and
families. 26-1p

On May 24, the Central Huron
Swine Club held its second meeting
at Winthrop United Church.
The meeting began with members
reciting the 4-H pledge. Thomas
Pockett read the minutes from the
last meeting. The Virtual Farm Tour
DVD was offered to the members. It
will be passed around at meetings to
each family.
Some members have already got
their project animals. They should be
about 50 - 60 lbs. by now. 4-H
membership paperwork and fees
were due. Roll call was “What does
Bio-Security mean to you?”
Members took turns giving their first
impressions of the theme for this 4-
H season and read through a few
lessons in their books.
Ryan Baan volunteered and was
elected to be the club secretary for
this year.
The meeting was closed by all
members reciting the 4-H motto:
Learn to do by doing. Members then
enjoyed brownies and juice.

Seven Huron County florists are
packaging up blooms to help the
AMGH Foundation raise awareness
about breast health and encourage
breast screening. Through its
“Keeping Abreast” Digital
Mammography Campaign, the
Foundation is also raising $550,000
for a new state-of-the-art full field
digital mammography machine for
Alexandra Marine and General
Hospital.
The florists are offering a dozen
carnations called the “Take Care
Bouquet” for $24.99 with $5 from
each bouquet going to the
Foundation’s “Keeping Abreast”
Campaign. Luann Taylor of Luann’s
Flowers and Gifts states that “the
bouquet is a reminder to the special
people in your life to take care of
themselves by having regular check-
ups.” Information about breast
screening is included with the
bouquet.
Full-field digital mammography is
the gold standard in breast
screening. It is estimated that one in
nine Ontario women will develop
breast cancer sometime in her life if
she reaches the age of 85. The
Foundation’s Executive Director,
Heather Glenister, states that “the
initiative taken by the florists is yet
another example of the generosity
and creativity that has been the
backbone of the campaign’s success
to date.”
A bouquet can be purchased by
contacting any one of the following
florists: Cooke’s Flowers (Clinton),
Per-fect Designs (Clinton), Village
Vines (Exeter), Luann’s Flowers and
Gifts (Goderich, Blyth), Everlasting
Flowers (Lucknow), Blooms N’
Rooms (Seaforth) and Flowers on
Main (Wingham).
