The Walkerburn Club held its May
meeting at the home of Vera
Penfound with six members and one
guest present. As the co-president of
the day was unable to be present,
Christena Gross opened the meeting
with a poem, The Gardens. Vera
Penfound led in prayer. As the
secretary was absent, there were no
minutes.
Roll call was answered with,What
we did for Easter. Ila Cunningham
gave the treasurer’s report. The June
meeting will be held at the home of
Pat Hunking with president of the
month, Dorothy Schneider in
charge. Deanna Snell will provide
the lunch and Eileen McClinchey
the program. The group had a
discussion regarding the fire service
for the area and everyone was urged
to attend the council meeting in
Londesborough that evening.
Christena Gross had a very
interesting contest on Canada, and it
appears members need to learn more
about this great country of ours. Pat
Hunking was a very capable
auctioneer for the plant sale. After
the grace was sung, a delicious
cheery cheesecake provided by
Dorothy Schneider was served by
the hostess.
A social half hour with friends and
neighbours was enjoyed.
