Continued from page 2Brothers, Bridge Brothers andBrown and Josling. The last Friday night supper washeld with a great crowd of over 50
enjoying the meal of roast pork. We
have appreciated everyone’s support
over the season and hopefully we
will return in the fall. We will be
looking for Comrades to take a turn
organizing the meal, so think about
it over the summer and let the
Branch know if anyone is interested
in taking a turn.
Friday night was joint installation
of officers for Brussels Branch 218
and Seaforth Branch 156 hosted by
the Seaforth Branch. There were 10
comrades from our branch attending
and installed by Deputy District
Commander Stew Taylor of Hensall.
A social time and light lunch was
enjoyed by all following the
completion of installation. Attendingfrom Branch 218 was President JohnLowe, First Vice Deb Cann, SecondVice, Cecil Moore, Sergeant-at-Arms Lisa Glanville, Executive
members Eric Ross, Mabel Glanville
Catrina Josling and Wanda Walker.
Comrade Jo-Ann McDonald
attending the training, organization
and development seminar at the
Goderich Branch 109 on Saturday.
All branches attending had to
present a 15-minute presentation on
a pre-assigned topic concerning the
Legion. Branch 218’s subject was
fundraising. It was a very interesting
and informative seminar with
grassroots ideas being presented in a
format everyone could understand.
The Saturday afternoon euchre
had eight tables of players hoping to
be winners. The first-place team of
John and Iola Subject stole the day
with eight lone hands to have thehigh score of 90. The second prizewent to couple George and GloriaLove with 75 points and the thirdprize to couple Tom and Eileen
Sloan with 72 points. The low prize
was a tie and prizes went to pairs

Reta Davidson each with 48 points.
The prizes for the most lone handsfor the women went to HazelMcGonigle and for the men FrankHulley. Euchre is every two weeks. The Sunday night dance had a
great crowd of over 115 enjoy the
music of the John Heaman Band.
The night was made extra special as
the crowd helped celebrate the
birthday of our very populardoorman Howard Hackwell. Howardcelebrated his 80th birthday on May24. Kitchen helpers Jo-Ann, Judyand Mabel surprised the birthday
boy and Audrey with cake for all
those attending the dance. Happy
birthday was led by John Heaman
and everyone had a fun time.
