The Municipality of Morris-Turnberry located in the northern end of the
County of Huron, has an opening for a motivated and skilled individual, to
assume the operation and the management of the Public Works Department.
The Public Works Coordinator is responsible for the long range planning,
development, leadership and budget control of the operation of the department
and the supervision of the department’s staff.
Experience and Qualifications:
• Ontario Secondary School Diploma (Grade 12)
• Positive Attitude
• Motivated self-starter
• Ability to work as a strong team player
• Excellent interpersonal skills
• Strong time and organizational skills, planning skills and supervisory skills
• Leadership ability to co-ordinate, plan, implement and evaluate programs
• Excellent oral, written and reporting communication skills and ability to
prepare technical reports
• Knowledge of road construction and maintenance, in a municipal
environment
• Knowledge of budget control, Health and Safety Standards and Human
Resource Management
• Computer literate and knowledge of MS office software applications -
Word and Excel
• Must possess or willingness to obtain CPR, First Aid, WHMIS, Surface
Miner and any other certificates as required.
Preference will be given to applicants with:
• Municipal Experience
• Ontario Good Roads Association Certification - three year program or
willingness to obtain
• Post Secondary education in Civil Engineering Technology (CET)
and Public Administration or equivalent
• Class DZ licence, or willingness to obtain
