Skips and Stones – By Bruce Skinn The Central Huron SecondarySchool Midget Boys basketballteam hosted their annual basketballtournament featuring HullettCentral and Blyth Public Schools. The fun round robin tournament was held in the school’s large gym and throughout the afternoon there were many amazing baskets, passes, steals, fouls and even the odd three-point shot that always brings cheers from the crowd. The CHSS Midget Redmen team has five players from Hullett andBlyth on their squad this year sothey enjoyed playing againststudents from their former schools.Several of the players from the elementary schools have brothers and sisters that already attend CHSS. It was very exciting to watch as two brothers faced off against each other, now finding themselves on different teams this year. There were also some new names and faces playing for the elementary school teams that may considerplaying for the Redmen in thecoming years. While nobody beat the highschool team, several elementary players did play extremely well proving that they are ready to take their game to the next level. A very special thanks goes out to our scorekeepers, Morgan Wroot and Paige Wilson who were kept busy and our referees, Megan Walraven, Luke Harrison and Kurtis McCallum. CHSS Basketball tournament featuresfuture talent from feeder schools Driving Alex Peters of Blyth Public School was one of the many stars of the game last week as his team took on Hullett Central Public School at Central Huron Secondary School.
