Police are looking for a
large pickup truck or a sports
utility vehicle that may have
been involved in a collision on
Feb. 24 in Brussels.
At approximately 9:30 p.m.
a patrolling OPP officer saw a
Ford Focus with fresh damage
on the left rear corner of the
vehicle. The damaged vehicle
was located on Turnberry
Street, south of Mill Street, in
Brussels.
Through further
investigation, police believe
there were two people in the
vehicle that hit the parked
Ford Focus, then left the
scene.
Police say the suspected
vehicle will have damage to
its right front corner and
headlight. They also believe
there is a strong possibility
the vehicle could have been a
Chevrolet.
Anyone with information
on the suspected vehicle or
the persons involved is
encouraged to call the OPP at
1-800-310-1122 or
Crimestoppers at 1-800-222-
8477.

charged in connection with
several theft incidents in the
Dashwood area.
Kyle Greer of South Huron
is currently facing one count
of armed robbery, four counts
of theft under $5,000, one
count of possession of
property obtained by crime
and five counts of breach of

IMPAIRED BABYSITTER
Michelle Morrison of
Lucan Bidulph has been
charged with the operation of
a motor vehicle with over 80
milligrams of alcohol in her
system and child
abandonment in connection
with a collision in South
Huron.
On Feb. 25 at
approximately 2:30 p.m. OPP
officers responded to reports
of a single vehicle collision.
Upon arrival, police say it was
discovered the driver had
been consuming alcohol. A
three-year-old passenger in
the car was treated at South
Huron Hospital and released.
The responding officer
requested a sample of the
driver’s breath. The driver
complied with the request but
failed the roadside test and
was subsequently arrested.
Further investigation
revealed the driver, who
babysat children in her home,
had left a one-year-old child
at her home while she drove
to Exeter, police say. The
driver was on her way back to
her home at the time of the
collision.
Morrison will appear in
Exeter court on April 29 and
her licence has been
suspended for 90 days.
SCAM DETECTED
The South Bruce OPP is
warning all area residents of a
phone scam that was
attempted in Elmwood.
On Feb. 25, a call was made
to a residence in Elmwood
offering great deals on
cellular phones. The caller
said they were from Bell
Mobility. The caller began
asking for a social insurance
number and a credit card
number. However, the call
was then terminated and the
police were called.
While Bell Mobility does
make calls to customers
offering cellular phone
packages, it was discovered
by the OPP that Bell had not
made any calls to the
Elmwood area that day.

Huron County OPP have
charged a 46-year-old

give a breath sample.
On Feb. 21, 2010 at
approximately 12:30 a.m., a
Huron OPP officer was
patrolling on Clegg Line in
Morris-Turnberry when the

driver to check his
sobriety.
While speaking to the
driver, the officer detected a
strong odour of an alcoholic
beverage on his breath. The
driver also produced an
expired drivers’ licence. The

the vehicle and it was also
confirmed that there was no
