Project Description
This project generally consists of the following:
• Partial energy recovery system for the ice rink refrigeration
system.
• Replacement of an existing dressing room make-up air
system/exhaust with a unit that incorporates energy recovery.
• Installation of a water softener system for the domestic hot
water system.
• Replacement of office HVAC unit
• Central control system.
Preliminary construction budget estimate is $175,000.00
Mechanical Contractors will act as Prime Contractor for the entire
project and will be responsible for all subcontractors, such as:
• Electrical
• Refrigeration
• Controls
• General Trades
The project Bid Period will be during March 2010 with construction
between March 2010 and June 2010.
Submission Details
A prequalification submission must include the following:
1) a completed CCDC Document No. 11.
2) a letter authorizing the Owner to obtain a written credit
reference from their bank.
3) a letter from the bonding company indicating bonding
capability and capacity available for this project.
4) Health and Safety Policy statement, WSIB Certification of
Clearance and recent WSIB CAD 7 calculations.
The Owner reserves the right to select a reject any or all
submissions at its sole discretion without explanation. The form of
contract will be CCDC 2, 2008, including Supplementary General
Conditions. Performance and Labour and Material Payment Bonds
for 50% of the contract value will be required from the successful
Prime Contractor. A bid bond of 10% of the bid amount will be
required with the Prime Contractor bid submission.
Those firms selected as a result of the prequalification process will
be advised of bid document availability. Only prequalified firms will
be included in the invitation to bid on this project.
Submissions are to be clearly labelled as “Prequalification
Submission North Huron Wescast Community Complex —
Wingham Energy Upgrades”, and must be received in our office no
later than 3:00 p.m. Thursday, February 25, 2010.
