Livestock for the week ending Jan.
29 were 1,987 cattle, 292 lambs and
goats. On Tuesday fed steers and
heifers sold on a good active trade at
prices $2 higher. Choice steers and
heifers sold $81 to $85 with sales to
$92.50. Second cut sold $78 to $81.
Cows sold on a strong active trade at
prices $1 higher. On Thursday veal
sold on a very strong active trade
with prices steady to last week.
Lambs, sheep and goats sold on a
strong active trade. On Friday calves
and yearlings sold on a steady
market.
There were 248 steers on offer.

Brussels Atoms took on Blyth in
recent hockey action. Brussels went
in thinking they had to work hard to
win and they did just that. It was
back-and-forth action for the whole
game, but with a minute left
Brussels came out on top to take a 5-
4 victory.
On Saturday, Brussels travelled to
Listowel to have an easy win. Goals
were scored by Noah Terpstra, Cody
Harding, Kaylee Wheeler, Mitchell
McKee and Jarron Thompson,
scoring his first goal.
The Blyth PeeWee Local Leaguehad a busy week with three wins andtwo losses.
On Jan. 16 the team travelled to
Monkton to play an exhibition game
for Elma Logan’s Hockey Days
Celebration. They played well but
came up one goal short in a 4-3 final.
The PeeWees came through withtwo big wins on Sunday, Jan. 17,playing Goderich in the morning and
winning 5-1 and Seaforth in the
evening with a 3-2 victory.
On Monday, Jan. 25 Goderich
travelled back to Blyth. The score
was 2-0 for Blyth.
