BLYTH CHURCH
Greetings at Blyth United Church,
Jan. 31 were Joan and Lavern Clark.
Ushering were Laurie Sparling,
Nancy Hakkers and Terry
Richmond. Floyd Herman was
music director and Fred Hakkers ran
the Power Point.
The UCW is looking for a
president and/or co-president for
this year.
Brett Glousher lit the candles at
the front of the church.
The call to worship was followed
by the choir singing Emmanuel and
the congregation joined in.
The first hymn was In the Bulb
there is a Flower.
The children were asked to come
to the front for their story time. Rev.
Gary Clark had given each child a
penny and played a game with them
by throwing the pennies at the steps.
When everyone had thrown their
pennies Rev. Clark dropped his at
this feet and said he won. The
children said that wasn’t fair and he
had changed the rules of the game.
He showed the children how to solve
the problem by talking about it with
each other.
They said a prayer and, along with
the congregation, sang and signed
the words to I Know Your Light.
They have been learning this song
the past few Sundays.
Ally Glousher carried the candle
downstairs as the children went for
their time of worship and
fellowship.
The scripture was Luke 4:21-30.
The choir san Amazing Grace.
Rev. Clark’s message to the adults
was Relationships, Marriage =
Divorce.
More than half the marriages in
Canada end up in divorce. Often if
people just listen to one another and
talk about the problem it could be
resolved.
The next hymn was O God Our
Help in Ages Past.
By Rachael Snell, TineVershaeve, and MarionStudhalterIn kindergarten at Blyth PublicSchool, they are exploring virtuesthrough some read alouds. In the story, One Winter Day, littleHedgehog was awarded the
