Scraping the ice
With the natural ice surface at the Belgrave Community
Centre, ice scrapers are used to clean the ice instead of an
ice resurfacer. Just in time for the renovations to be
complete and the ice surface finally being declared fit to
skate on, Paul Cook Electric and Willie’s Custom Collision
have donated five ice scrapers to ensure the ice in
Belgrave stays smooth for years to come. From left: Paul

Finishing touches
The Belgrave Kinsmen were able to put the finishing touches on a project they have been
working on for quite some time: the arena floor at the Belgrave Community Centre. The
Kinsmen met on the ice earlier this month to celebrate their achievement. The project is now
complete and the ice is ready for skating. From left: Chris Michie, Warren Knight, Henri

Noroviruses are very infectious,
but Nassiri says stopping the spread
of infection includes some of the
basics.
“Good handwashing with soap
and water for at least 20 seconds is
important for everyone.
Alcohol-based sanitizers with
more than 70 per cent alcohol can
also be effective against
noroviruses.”
Nassiri says it’s also important for
healthcare workers, foodhandlers
and caregivers to be especially
vigilant and should not return to
work until 48 hours after symptoms
have ended.
She also says those staff should
not work between facilities during
an enteric outbreak.
