The call to worship was followed by the singing of the hymn, Jesus Bids the Shine. The children were asked to come to the front for their story time. Rev. Clark had the basket into which the pictures of the dove were to be put. Everyone said a prayer and the hymn, I Know Your Light was sung and signed. Quinton Hakkers took the basket down to Sunday school. Candice Abell carried the Christ candle downstairs for their time of worship and fellowship. The scripture reading was John 2: 1-11, read by Myrtle Badley. The choir anthem was, There’s a Song in the Air. Rev. Clark’s message to the adults was, The Relationship Do Over. Jesus and his parents were at a wedding. In Jesus’ time the weddings lasted for seven days and the wine would run out. Mary had faith that her son would help and told the servants to do whatever He said. Jesus told them to fill the six jugs with water which was a lot of work as the water was pulled up out of the well by buckets. He then told the servants to take them to the wine server. He tasted the water which had been turned into wine. Miracles just don’t happen; they have to be worked at. Relationships that go wrong take work too, said Rev. Clark. Rev. Clark told a story of a mother, father, two boys and a baby. Father would be waiting in the car for 20 minutes before the rest of the family would come out. This made him angry so he decided if he helped with the boys and they started 20 minutes early the mother would only have the baby and herself to get ready and this made everyone happy and it was a much better ride to wherever they were going. The next hymn was, Blessed Assurance. Everyone was invited for coffee and cake to celebrate the January birthdays.
