(Mahood) Alcock of Goderich
passed away at Alexandra Marine
and General Hospital, Goderich on
Saturday, Jan. 9, 2010 at the age of
66.
She was the beloved wife of
William Alcock. She was the loving
mother and mother-in-law of
Richard and Sherry Alcock of
Timmins, Kathy and Bob Adams of
Goderich, Paul and Heather Alcock
of Exeter and Michael and Christy
Alcock of Goderich. Mrs. Alcock
was loved and will be sadly missed
by her eight grandchildren Steven
and Bradley Alcock, Ryan and
Robyn Adams, James and Emma
Alcock and Elizabeth and Michaela
Alcock. She was the dear sister and
sister-in-law of Audrey and Earl
Fitch of Wingham and Ruth and
Tony Stauttener of RR 2, Goderich.
Mrs. Alcock is also survived by
nieces and nephews.
She was predeceased by her
parents Lionel and Cora (Haskins)
Mahood, two brothers Ray and Elton
Mahood and sister-in-law Helen
Mahood.
At Helene’s request cremation has
taken place.
Visitation was held at the Falconer
Funeral Homes Ltd., Bluewater
Chapel, 201 Suncoast Drive E.,
Goderich on Tuesday from 2 - 4 and
7 - 9 p.m. A memorial service was
held at St. George’s Anglican
Church, Goderich on Wednesday,
Jan. 13 at 11 a.m. with The Rev.
Canon Allan Livingstone officiating.Interment will be in MaitlandCemetery.
Donations to cystic fibrosis or to
the charity of one’s choice would be
appreciated as expressions of
sympathy.
HAZEL “TILLIE” ENGEL
Hazel Matilda “Tillie” (Hulley)
Engel, formerly of Cranbrook,
passed away on Monday, Jan. 4,
2010 at Caressent Care, Listowel.
Born on March 3, 1920, Tillie was in
her 90th year.
Tillie was the beloved wife of the
late Ross Engel, who predeceased
her on Aug. 2, 2000. She was the
dear mother of Isabel Wick and her
husband Eldon of Manitouwadge,
Faye Grant and her husband
Campbell of Listowel, John Engel
and his wife Pat of Cranbrook,
Dianne McClory and her husband
Ron of Ripley, Gayle Dewar and her
husband Ken of Monkton, Barry
Engel and his wife Diane of Brussels
and daughter-in-law Cindy Engel of
Seaforth. She was the dear sister of
Cora Broughton of Monkton and
Mike and Shirley Hulley of
Kingston. Tillie was also loved by
her 22 grandchildren, 39 great-
grandchildren and five great-great-
grandchildren.
She was predeceased by her son
Monty, son-in-law Wayne Smith,
sister Greta Ward and husband
Walter, brothers Jack Hulley and
wife Marg and Jim Hulley and wife
Myrtle, brother-in-law George
Broughton and three grandsons in
infancy.Friends were received by thefamily from 2 - 4 p.m. and 7 - 9 p.m.
Wednesday from the Schimanski
Family Funeral Home, where the
funeral service was conducted on
Thursday, Jan. 7 at 2 p.m. with Rev.
Cathrine Campbell officiating. A
remembrance of Tillie was given by
her daughter-in-law Cindy.
Carrying floral tributes were
Teresa Myke, Missy Engel and
Jamee Johnston. Pallbearers were
John Wick, Mike Grant, Luke Smith,
Trevor Engel, Pam McLean and
Dawn Johnston.
Spring interment will be in
Brussels Cemetery.
As an expression of sympathy,
memorial donations may be made to
the Canadian Cancer Society or the
Heart & Stroke Foundation of
Ontario.

MERVIN CHARLES RITCHIE
Mr. Mervin Charles Ritchie of
Blyth passed away suddenly at home
on Saturday, Jan. 9, 2010. He was in
his 74th year.
He was the beloved husband of
Mae (Dawson) Ritchie. He was the
loving father of Ron and Doreen
Ritchie of Blyth, Gary and Joan
Ritchie of Markham, Ken and Deb
Ritchie of Wingham, Terry and
Cathy Ritchie of Blyth, Karen and
Dave Schieckoff of New Hamburg,
and Kevin and Deanna Ritchie of
Lacombe, Alberta.
Mervin will be missed by 13
grandchildren, eight step-grandchildren and two great-grandchildren. He was the brother
and brother-in-law of Lorne and
Marg of Kincardine and Clarence
and Alice of Lucknow.
Merv was predeceased by his
parents Charles and Lila Ritchie,
brothers Leonard and wife
Bernadean, Harold and wife
Lorraine and Marvin, his twin in
infancy and one granddaughter
Nicole in 1987.
Friends were received at the Blyth
Visitation Centre of the Falconer
Funeral Homes Ltd., 407 Queen St.,
Blyth on Monday from 2 - 4 p.m.
and 7 - 9 p.m. where the funeral
service took place on Tuesday, Jan.
12 at 11 a.m. Pastor Les Cook
officiated.
Cremation to follow.
As expressions of sympathy

the Heart and Stroke Foundation

It is with love and fond memories

fullest, travelled, experienced and
was touched by those who
encountered her. There are no words
to explain the loss we feel without
her here.

In keeping with Wilma’s wishes
cremation has taken place and a
Celebration of Life Service was held
at the Oakbank United Church in
Winnipeg on Tuesday, Jan. 5 with
Rev. Dawn Ballentine-Dickson
officiating.
Family and friends are invited to
attend a Celebration of Life Service
to be held at the Clinton Christian
Reformed Church, 243 Princess St.
E., Clinton on Saturday, Jan. 23 at 11
a.m. with Pastor Ron Luchies
officiating. A reception will follow
at the church. In lieu of flowers the
family asks that you plant a tree in
memory of Wilma.
Interment will be in Clinton
Cemetery.
