There is one team Clinton
Juniors are making sure don't
beat them and as long as they do
they can be assured they'll never
be in last place in the league.
This week as last, the Juniors
played three games in four
nights and won only one. Once
again their only win was over
Hensall-Zurich Co-ops. Once
again the last loss was to Exeter.
But this time all games were on
the road.
The team started off by
losing to Tavistock on Saturday
by a 10-4 margin. Bob Cook,
Bill Stirling, Jim Toop and Stu
Mustard each scored for the
Juniors against four goals by
Bob Zehr, two by Dale Winhold
and singles by Dave Weicker,
,Keith McIntosh, Bruce Bender
and Terry Roi.
Then Monday night they
outscored the Co-ops 8-3.
But Tuesday night in Exeter,
they found the Hawks too
tough, losing 8-4. Bob Rowe
and Larry Laye led the Hawks
with two goals each. Ron
Lindenfield, Steve Murley, Mike
Hoy and Joe O'Rourke scored
,singles.
Ron Graham, Wayne Arthur,
Bob Cook and Stu Mustard
handled the'Clinton scoring.
The Juniors face another
week of action away from home
before they finally return home
Clinton Midgets have been
coming on strong letely, picking
up two wins in their last three
games.
On December 19, they took a
9-5 win over Zurich on home
ice. Zurich took an early lead
but Clinton came back with four
straight goals to take the lead for
good.
pave Fawcett scored four
goals, three of them in that
stretch that broke the game
open. Bill Crawford added two.
Dan ,Colquhoun, Mike Anstett
and Brian Makine scored the
others.
On December 21, they scored
a 7-5 win over Mitchell in
Mitchell. In a reversal of the
earlier game, Clinton took the
early lead then found themselves
down 3-1 and had to come
back. John Van Loo scored the
first goal and Bill Crawford,
Dave Fawcett and Jim Cameron
put Clinton ahead..
Two goals by Mitchell's Delta
gave Mitchell the lead again in
the first three minutes of the
third period but Cal Fremlin,
Colquhoun and Fawcett scored
to put the game away.
Four goals in the last ten
minutes gave Hensall the win
on December 23. After a
scoreless first period, Fawcett
and Crawford gave Clinton a
2-1 lead in the second.
Mike, Anstett made it 3-1
before Hensell made the big
comeback. M. Glanville led
Hensall with three goals.
