EVERYONE WELCOME
First, Terry Flowers taught. us
a new game called "Fish in a,
Net". We went to our corners to
make our books, Then we had
Fairy Ring, In Fairy Ring our
Fairy Queen, Bonnie Van
Riesen, collected our six money.
After that the Brownies went
into two different groups. The
Golden Hand Brownies went
down to the basement. The rest
stayed upstairs.
Some of the Golden Hand
Brownies were assigned to phone
Brown Owl or Tawny Owl or
Gray Owl. Then Brown Owl gave
us a message. It was that the
snow was coining down hard and
we would have to be dismissed
early.
The Golden Bar Brownies,
who stayed upstairs, helped
Packie teach the Tweenies to
braid.
We had a short Pow Wow.
Brown Owl handed out the
Tweenies record books.
We closed with Taps.
BY BONNIE VAN RIESEN
On Monday we marched
down to the dairy to go through
it.
Mr. Holmes showed us all the
things and how they work. We
went into the cooler room where
it is 40 degrees. Then we were
done and as we went out Mr.
Holmes gave us each some
chocolate milk.
Candidates

Maitland Authority. But there's
another meeting on January 14
with an open discussion. I think
they eventually will come in.
PLAN: I don't think
Tuckersmith would allow
annexation so amalgamation
would be the only way. We
shouldn't interfere with
Tuckersmith. The project is too
big for us to handle.
SPECIAL INTEREST: I'm
especially interested in the
county planning and
development committees and
would like to go back to county
council to deal with them.
CLARENCE DENOMME
POLICE: The public doesn't
know all the facts. They rend to
criticize too quickly.
BAYFIELD CONSERVATION
AREA: I understand that the
Design for Development
recommends this area be
considered as a recreation area.
If so we've got to make it as
attractive to tourists as possible
and this is one way of doing so.
PLAN: I'm very interested in the
plan. I think its success will
depend on how well we can
communicate with Tuckersmith.
SPECIAL INTEREST: To try to
make Clinton a better place to
live and work with more jobs for
the young.

JIM ARMSTRONG
POLICE: I think the courts are
really at fault not the police.
BAYFIELD CONSERVATION
AREA: I haven't looked into it
enough.
PLAN: It depends on what
happens at the base and with
regional government. It has its
merits. The high cost of taxes
today scare me though.
SPECIAL INTEREST: We have
to keep services up but try to
keep taxes down.
RUSS ARCHER
POLICE: The chief should be
living in town, I think the force
should work on swinging shifts
so no man should have to work
all days or nights. There should
also be better protection at
school crossings. I don't think
we need another policeman.
BAYFIELD CONSERVATION
AREA: If we are a part of a
conservation area we stand to
have a lot done with the river.
The sooner we belong, the
sooner we get something done.
We now pay money to the
Maitland Authority, maybe we
should have all the community
in it.
PLAN: It's a terrific plan but
perhaps it should be over a
longer range. I feel it is realistic
but will the people play the
price and will we get the
co-operation.
SPECIAL INTEREST: Police.
We've got to go with more help
but how much more can we pay.
We're already being taxed like a
city. I think the work load
should be spread out more on
council. Now one councillor has
to do too much work on some
committees. It's a 'matter of
reorganizing.

On Monday, November 30,
we had an enrolment for the
following Guides: Jane Symons,
Lorie Keyes, Lorelle Mosco, Gail
LaCroix and Marilyn Mair. Each
had passed her tenderfoot tests.
The girls who had been working
on their first class modelled the
outfits they had made. Many
Guides received badges for
firefighters, child care,
swimming, pioneer and team
sport. Three girls served a cup of
coffee to the mothers present
which would give them their
hostess badge.
We ended our meeting with a
campfire, a skit and then tapes. •
BY LOUANN NICHOLSON
At Brownies we started by
having a game. Then we got into
a Brownie Ring and had
inspection.
After that we took our Fairy
Gold. Then the Brownies
showed the Tweenies how to tie .
our ties. After that we sang
songs and then we showed the
things we wanted to show,
Then we said our prayer and
had our silent time. Then we
closed our meeting with a song,
Then we went home.
