Mrs,

Mrs, Penoinine were Married et
St. Peter's Church near Zurich
On October 24, 1920. They
recall that two days before their
wedding, fire destroyed the main
altar in the church. However, by
' the time of the ceremony, an
altar had been erected for the
occasion,
Mr. Denomme IS the son of
the late Mr. and Mrs, Philln
Denomme. His wife, the former
Verda Raw, is a daughter of the
late Mr. and Mrs. Henry Raw.
She is a sister of Canada's High
C,ommissioner to Trinidad,
Gerald Raw„
After living in Zurich for 16
years, the couple moved to
Clinton where Mr. Denomme has
been employed as head
custodian at Central Huron
Secondary School.
Affectionately known as "Sam"
by students from as far back as
1936, Mr. Denomme first
worked for Clinton Collegiate
Institute board which later
ImPadenetl ont to become
Clinton and District Collegiate
Institute board.
The couple has five sons and
three daughters: John,

4, Clinton and Mr. Ian Smith
Toronto ushered the guests.
A wedding dinner was served
in the pent house lounge of the
Noshury Restaurant followed by
a reception at the home of the
bride and groom- 2901 Jane
Street, Toronto.
The groom's mother received
the guests. She chose a mauve
polyester crepe, two-piece dress
with black accessories and an
orchid corsage. Assisting was
Mrs. Ray Zwidayk of Haliburton
who chose a blue brocaded
two-piece dress trimmed with
black fur and wore a 'pink
carnation corsage.
For a two-week wedding trip
to Florida and the southern
states the bride travelled in a
pink brocaded suit, black patent
accessories, and carried, a green
coat trimmeiLyith. fur._

corsage.
Guests were preient from
Calgary, Alberta, Haliburton,
Montreal, Sutton,dpeaforth, and
Clinton.
Prior to the wedding Miss
Phyliss Feeney entertained the
bride at a miscellaneous shower
at her home in Egmondville.
Ontario Street United Church
was decorated with spiral
candelabra entwined with
bronze and yellow mums, wheat
and myrtle for the wedding on
October 3, 1970 of Case
Buffinga and Ruth Anne Brown.
The groom is the son of Mr.
and Mrs. Henry Buffinga of
Clinton and the bride is the
daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Ernest
Brown of Clinton.
Rev. H. Wonfor of Ontario St.
Church and Rev. A. Beukema of
the Clinton Christian Reform
Church officiated at the
double-ring ceremony.
The bride, given in marriage
by her father, wore a white
floor-length gown of lagoda, in
an A-line, empire waisted style
with guipure lace trim on the
cuff, collar and three-quarter-
length sleeves, the hem, and
running down the back of the
gown in a double row, ending in
a split chapel train.
A creation of white roses and
stephanotis held in place a
bouffant,, escalloped veil which
was trimmed with pearig, She
carried a triangular cascade of
white bridal roses and
stephanotis.
Matron of honour was Mrs.
Ralph Buffinga of Blyth. She
wore a gown of moss green
crepe, the bodice fashioned with
a scoop neckline and long,
full-length cuffed sleeves. The
sleeves were trimmed with a

bronze and yellow mums, Wheat
and moss green streamers.
The floWergirl was Jennifer
Wood _of Clinton who wore a
floor-length dress of white crepe
With short puffed sleeves and
trammed with yellow and green
lace. She wore bronze and
yellow mums in her hair and, a
basket of flowers like those OT
the.other attendants,
Groomsman was Ralph
Euffinga of LendeSboro as
ushers and Eugene Hoyterna of
Clinton as ringbearer.
The reception was held in
Ontario Street 'United Church
Hall where bronze potted mums
on the head table, yellow and
white mums on each table, and a
three-tiered wedding cake
enhanced the setting.
The bride's mother received
the guests, wearing a gold
shantung beaded dress and coat
ensemble with matching gold
bow head piece, dark brown.
accessories and corsage of white
sweetheart roses,
The groom's mother wore
beaded dress of aqua crepe and
matching coat with black
accessories and a corsage of
white sweetheart roses. Master
of ceremonies at the reception
was George Levis. '
For her wedding trip ,to
Washington, D.C„ U.S.A.; the
bride wore a two-piece suit of
raspberry red wool with black
patent shoes and purxe, black
leather gloves and a corsage of
gardenia and stephanotis.
The couple will reside at 35
Ontario St. Clinton.
Prior to the wedding, the
bride was honoured at
miscellaneous showers given by
Mrs, Nina Inkley; Mrs. Margaret
Colin (Cecelia) M'cNeil, Clinton;
and Mrs, gric {Bernice) Moore,
Godprich. There are 33
grandchildren and 3
great-grandchildren-
Mr, Pencnrirne has eight
brothers and three sisters and
Mrs, OenOnitrie has four brothers
and three sisters. A family
reunion, with the whole family
attending, was held recently at
Canadian Forces Base, Clinton.
