Ontario Street United Church,
Clinton was decorated with
baskets of large white mums and

October 2 for the wedding of
Janet Lorna Brandon and•Neville
Leake.
The groom is the son of Mr.
and Mrs, Frank Leake, Harriston
and the bride, the daughter of
Mr. and Mrs. Charles J. Brandon,
Clinton.
Rev. H. W. Wonfor of Clinton
officiated at the double-ring
ceremony, assisted by the Rev,
Harold Snell of London.
Organist was Miss Lois Grasby
and the soloist, Mrs. Hilda
Haltom, sang "Wedding Hymn",
"Lord's Prayer" and "Song for
Ruth".
The bride, given in marriage
by her father, wore a
floor length gown of white
lagoda appliqued with Swiss
guipure lace and a tiny
seed-pearl trim with long, full,
sheer sleeves. The detachable
'chapel‘-train. -was also trirrymetb
with lace and seed pearls. Her
shoulder-lengt.l veil was held
by a tiara of Swiss lace petals
and tiny seed pearls. She carried
a cascade bouquet of pink
sensation roses and white
miniature carnations.
Maid of honour, Miss Denise
Leake of Harriston and
bridesmaids Mrs. Gregory
Brandon, Clinton and Miss
Robin Leake, Harriston were
gowned alike in floor-length
gowns of burgundy velvet with
bodice and long, full sleeves of
pink crepe, The empire waistline
was accentuated by a band of
seed pearls. They carried
nosegays of pink, variegated,
miniature carnations.
Groomsman was Terry Arnett
of Toronto with Gregory
Brandon of Clinton and Glynn
Leake of Toronto as ushers.
Table arrangements of pink
and white mums and white
candles decorated Clinton
Legion Hall for .the reception
following-the-ceremony:,—'
The bride's mother welcomed
guests, wearing , a dress and
jacket of raspberry silk with
matching accessories and an
off-white gardenia. She ' was
assisted by the groom's mother
who wore a dark green velvet
dress with silver-trim and silver
accessories. She too, wore a
gardenia.
For the wedding trip to
Florida and the Southern United
States, the bride wore a grey and
tan wook knit Pant suit and tan
accessories. The couple will
reside in Palmerston.
Prior to her wedding, the
bride was guest at a
miscellaneous shower given by
Mrs. Off Glazier and Mrs. Jim
Wilson of Clinton and at a
shower given by friends at the
home of Mrs. George Hallond in
Harriston.

marriage of Elaine Catherine
Dale and Donald James
Landsborough on Saturday
September 26, 1970.
The bride is the daughter of
Mr. and Mrs. Elgin Dale R.R.
Clinton, and the groom is the
son of Mr. and Mrs. James
Landsborough, R.R. 4 Seaforth.
Arrangements ,of bron4e and
yellow mums and candelabra
formed a pretty setting for the
double-ring ceremony officiated
by Rev. H.W. Wonfor.

Stratford, step-sister of the bride
was maid of honour, wearing a
floorlength gown of gold crepe,
with matching crownless,
picture-hat and carried basket of
gold and yellow mums.
Bridesmaids were Miss Helen
Landsborough, sister of the
groom and Miss Marlene Dale,
sister of the bride, were dressed
identical to the maid of honour,
also carried baskets of gold and
yellow mums.
David Landsborough, brother
of the groom, was best-man.
Ushers were Douglas Dale,
brother of the bride, and James
Landsborough Jr., brother of the
groom.
The wedding dinner was held
in the church auditorium. The
bride's mother received guests
wearing a. taupe dress with
matching coat and accessories, a
corsage of yellow roses. The
grooms' mother wore A blue
brocade dress with brown
accessories and corsage of red
roses.
The bride for travelling chose
a white crimp knit dress with
navy accessories and corsage of
yellow roses. After a trip to
northern Ontario the couple will
reSide in Stratford.

World Council
appeals for. aid
Emergency grants of $10,000
each to Jordan, Vietnam,
Palestinian refugees and Nigeria
were approved recently by the
Committee on Overseas Relief
and Inter-Church Aid of The
United Church of Canada.
.The aid to Jordan and
Vietnam was given in response
to urgent appeals from the
World Council of Churches,
Geneva for money to buy
medical supplies, foodstuffs,
blankets, tents, clothing and to
pay for transportation for the
wounded in Jordanian cities.
The World Council appealed
to its member churches at the
beginning of this year for
$500,000 to aid victims of the
fighting in Vietnam and adjacent
areas. Now it has appealed for a
further $150,000 for sending "a
sizeable shipment of medical
supplies to aid victims of the
Vietnam war in areas controlled
by the National Liberation
Front." The European Medical
Association is collecting the
,.supplies and has asked the World
Council of Churches and its
related church agencies to help,

attend November 10 meeting on
the visit of the Assembly
President Miss Audrey Miller,
Ottawa and the District Deputy
President Mrs. Gerald McFalls,
Exeter.
