George William Shipley, RR 4
Clinton died at his home on
Saturday, October 3, 1970. He
was 69 years of age,
He was born on August' 24,
1901 in Clinton, the son of
George and Florence Shipley. He
was a farmer in the Clinton area
all his life and a member of
Ontario Street United Church.
Surviving him are his brother
Charles W. Shipley, Port Stanley
and Mrs. Ann Shipley and
family'.
Funeral services took place
from the Flail Funeral Home,
Clinton on Monday; October 5
with the Rev. H.' W. Wonfor
officiating. Burial was in Clinton
Cemetery.
Pallbearers were Eddie Dale,
Harold Swan," Norval Downs,
Don Pickard, Ernest Brown and
George Turner Jr.

JAMES KNOX WILLIAMS
James Knox Williams of
Albert Street, Clinton, died at
\ his home on SepteMber 21,
1970. He -was 48 years of age.
Born on October 11, 1922, in
Goderich, he was the son of the
late William D. Williams and
Blanche McIlveen. Ike married
Florence Irene Youngblut on
August 23, 1941.
A resident of the area most of
his life he was a carrier of the
Royal Mail. He was a member of
Ontario Street United Church.
Surviving besides his wife are
two daughters, Carol of Hensall
and Sharon of home, one son
Dwight of Goderich and three
grandchildren.
One brother, Frank of Guelph
also survives.
Funeral services took place
from the Ball Funeral Home,
Clinton, on September 24, 1970,
with the Rev. H. W. Wonfor
officiating. Burial was in Clinton
Cemetery.
Pallbearers were Harold
Mcliveen, Jack McIlveen, Earl
Williams, Harry Williams,
Clayton Laithwaite and Donald
Palmer. Flowerbearers were Art
Ball, Dick Dickson, Elgin Dale
and Bill Laithwaite.
Friends and relatives came
from, Windsor, Guelph, Orillia
and Kitchener for the funeral.

Mrs. James Cree. Cook of
Huronview, Clinton, died at
Clinton Public Hospital on
Saturday, October 3, 1970. She
was 82 years of age.
She was born Myrtle Olive
Ross, the daughter of John M.
and Jane Ross in Blyth on July
20, 1888 and was a lifelong
resident of the Clinton and
Blyth areas.
She was married to the late
James Cree Cook who
predeceased her in 1964. A
member of Wesley-Willis United
Church, she was also a charter
member of the Order of the
Eastern Star,
She is survived by one son,
Lome of Chicago and a
daughter, Mrs. L. H. (Norma)
Stephens of Toronto, three
sisters and three brothers. One
son, Stewart, predeceased her in
1962.
Funeral services took place
Tuesday, October 6 from the
Beattie Funeral Home with the
Rev. A. J. Mowatt officiating.
Burial was in Clinton Cemetery.
Pallbearers were Clarence
Neilans, William Cook,, William
Hearn, William Bell Jr., Chester
Velette and Robert MaiVeare
Flowerbearers were Les Pearson,
Frank Mutch, Ross McEwan and
Jim Jenkins.
