Two townships, Lindsay and St. Edmunds, both in Bruce County, will be open to deer hunting in the Lake Huron District this year. The season opens November 2, 1970 and extends to November 7, 1970. Hunting with dogs is not allowed in either of the above two mentioned townships and rifles can be used. On Monday night, the Brucefield Bombers came through with a decisive 20.4 win over Wingham to take a two to one lead in the best. of five series. The Bombers got off to a good start in ,the first inning scoring two runs on a single by Joyce Carter and a home run by Sandra Graham; followed by three runs in the second on hits by Lia DeJong, Jo-Ann Aldwinckle, and Sue McLeod. - The third inning saw Brucefield score two more runs with , hits from Sandra Graham, Eleanor Shiels and Lia DeJong. JUNIOR SOCCER Junior soccer at CHSS got underway last Tuesday with a rousing Clinton vs. Goderich at Goderich game. CHSS players kept on the ball and with a strong defence and an effective offence, controlled the game. Points were made by the fouls committed against Clinton and fast break aways, .The next game is on Wednesday, October 14 at Wingham. Juniors lose to Exeter. JUNIORS The Juniors met stiff opposition at Exeter and were edged by 11 points in 'their second League game. CHSS junior and senior soccer teams in action BY ANDREW AMSING Tuesday, October 6, the CHSS senior soccer team met Listowel in their third game of the season. A fluke goal in the first half gave Clinton a 1-0 lead. Listowel tied up the game and the match ended in a 1-1 draw. The game was marred by three five-game suspensions McPhee cashed in on two penalty shots and added a goal for the first hat-trick of the Clinton season. CUSS, with their tails flying high, outhustled and out manoeuvred the bigger Mitchell team. Danny Colquhoun played an excellent game at right halfback, forcing the other team into mistakes, "Beanie" Brian Jewitt scored the other goal to lead off the scoring. Tuesday, the CUSS junior soccer team challenged Seaforth in an exciting match. The score was 3-0 in Seafotth's favour but this is not indicative of the closely played game.
