The biggest crowd ever
attended the two-day Huron
Pioneer Thresher and Hobby
Association held on Friday and
Saturday, September 11 and 12.
Between four and five
thousand visitors viewed the
large collection of steam engines,
threshers, saws and antique cars
that made up the show.
Entertainment was an added
attraction with the Se'aforth
District High School band
performing on Saturday. Earl
and Martha Heywood
entertained . at the grandstand
during the afternoon.
Hearty thresher's dinners
were served by the Loridesboro
Women's Institute on both days
while the Blyth Agricultural.
Sciciety 'manned a booth on the
grounds and Blyth Lions Club
manned the gates.
An old time fiddler's
competition was held, and Don
Snell of Waterloo, and Nelson
Howe of Cromarty, tied for first
place in the seniors event. Albert
Tout, of Ripley, placed third. Ed.
Reinheart of Mildmay, placed
first in the junior division, with
Linda Godkin of Walton, taking
second prize.
The step dance competition
drew a good number of entries
and Peggy Dennis of Walton
proved to be the best stepper of
the, day. Susan Langwa of
Brussels, placed second, with
Marlin Glanville of Walton
coming third. Others entered in
the competition were Beth

and Threasher Reunion at Blyth September 11 and 12, but

News of Londesboro
Mr. Edward Robertson of
Windsor left for his home Friday
morning having visited with his
sister Mrs. Bert Brunsdon for the
past week.
Bert Brunsdon of
Westminster Hospital, London
celebrated his 75th birthday
September 12. A good-sized
birthday cake cut into 46 pieces,
ice cream, fruit juices were also
served to all of J. Ward and the
nurses. Mr. Brunsdon's piece of
cake had a large rose on it. He
said how pleased he was that all
shared in his celebration.
Anniversary service will be
observed on Sunday,.September
27 at 11 o'clock, Rev. Deryn
Docken of Walton will officiate.

Thompson, Brenda Scott and
Heather Fothergill were added

The Women's Institute will
hold the October meeting on
October 1 at 2 p.m. The Cheerio
Club and grandmothers will be
entertained. There will be a
Tupperware demonstration. Roll
call is a local industry I would
like to visit.
The Observance of Rally Day
with beautiful weather brought a
good attendance on Sunday.
Excellent music with Mrs. Gail
Lear organist and Mrs. Tom
Allen accompanying with the
piano. Portions of Scripture
were read by Kathy Hunking
and Dennis Fothergill.
An accordion duet by Daryl
Shobbrook and Wayne Lyon and
a vocal duet by Kevin Jewitt and
Ricky Snell were appreciated.
