Robert G. Trimble, minister of Wesley United Church, London. Mr. Trimble is a graduate of Victoria and Emmanuel Colleges, Toronto and has served as minister at Emsdale and Barrie before coming to Wesley where his father, Rev, Dr. George E. Trimble had been minister from 1938 to 1942. At present Wesley Church has three candidates for the Christian ministry, all studying in theological colleges, Mr. Trimble has a strong belief in the local congregation as being the ,centre of Christian faith and activity and is convinced that there .are many ways for a person to receive spiritual security. He was Chairman of.the Leighton Ford Crusade for Christ held at the London Gardens last year. Amongst his many interests is Junior Hockey and especially the Niagara Falls Flyers At the morning service the soloist will be Mr. James Doherty of Clinton, one of our local high school teachers. In the evening, Mr. Peter Snell of Exeter, son of the Rev. Harold Snell presently of London, will sing in the folk song idiom.. A Mess Dinner at the Officers' Mess, CFB Clinton, was the occasion of a presentation to Lt. Col.• O.H. Hack, Comniandant of the School of Instructional Technique, Major F.A. Golding, Base Commander, CFB Clinton. presented Lt, Col. Hack with the first clasp to his Canadian Forces DeCoration. The CD is awarded to officers and men of the Canadian Forces who in an approved capacity have completed a period of 12 years service. The clasp is awarded after a further period of 10 years. The clasp is a rosette of silver worn on the ribbon of the decoration. Lt. Col. Hack attended public school in Wembley, Alberta. He completed high school at Concordia College in Edmonton. In 1941 he joined the Canadian Army in which he served until returning to the University of British Columbia in January 1.946. In 1948, after graduating with a B.A. and a Secondary School Teaching Certificate, he taught at King Edward High School in Vancouver. In. 1949 he enrolled in the Royal Canadian Air* Force, Education Branch, and served until 1955 as Education and Training Officer at RCAF Station Sea Island. His next assignment was assistant to the Senior Training Officer at Air Defence Command Headquarters in Montreal. In 1960 he became assistant to the Director of Ground Training at Air Force Headquarters in Ottawa. Lt. Col. Flack was posted to 1 Air Division Headquarters in Metz, France in 1962 where he became Senior Training Officer. In 1967 he was promoted to Lt, Col. and assumed command of the Canadian Forces School of Instructional Technique at Clinton —the teachers' college for the Canadian Forces, During his commanu 01 the School Many major innovations and changes have been instituted. The Canadian Forces training system was developed and introduced under his direction. Video Tape Recording has been acquired and put into use as an aid to instruction. Manuals and guides have been produced to help Canadian Forces Instructors do a better job. Lt. Col. Hack and Mrs, Hack, the former Tillie Monk of Vernon B.C, live in Adastral Park. They have six children; three sons, Douglas of Vancouver, Roger at Stratford Teachers' college, and Kenneth 10, at home; three daughters, Cynthia of Vancouver, Marlene of Halifax and Melanie 9, at home. Marlene and her husband Capt. Larry Schaufele, presented Lt. Col. Hack and Mrs. Hack with their first grandson in May of this year. The bride of 25 years was the former Lobe Hastie, a nurse from Seaforth. They were married September 15, 1945 at Ontario Street United Church 'Manse, Clinton. They. farmed for a year in Rullett Township before moving to the Wingbarn area where Ross has been connected with CKNX and Don Robertson and the Ranch Boys. Out .of town guests attended from Seaforth, Stratford, St. Marys, Clinton and Goderieh. The couple have a son Harvey of Kitchener and a daughter Connie at home.
