The annual Shobbrook
Reunion was held on Sunday,
June 28, 1970 at Seaforth Lion's
Park. About 50 relatives
gathered for a bountiful picnic
lunch under mainly sunny skies.
The president conducted a
brief business meeting during
which the nominating
committee brought in the slate
of officers for 1971.

Pastor Alfred Fry conducted
the service and the Rev, Harold
Snell of London preached on the
subject of ''The Christian
Ministry." The • Wesley-Willis
Choir, under the leadership of
Mr, Lome potterer, thrilled the
congregation with the singing .of
three numbers which included
the Crimond setting of "The
'Twenty-Third Psalm" and a -duet
by Alice Andrews and Mary
Hearn,
After the service all .adjouned
to the Auburn Community Hail
where, under the chairmanship
of Mr. Charlie Scott of Auburn,
appropriate speeches were made
by • representatives of the
Wilsons' former congregations,
and by Rev. Dr. William
Fingland and Rev. Harold Snell,
long-time friends of Mr. and Mrs.
Wilson. A large easy chair and a
scroll were presented and
refreshments were served to
conclude a memorable and
unique occasion.

Stanley Township
farm
The lovely farm home of Miss
Jean McEwen, R.R.5, Clinton,
was the scene of a big family
smorgasbord dinner on Monday
of this week.
Mrs. George Grant, the former
Lynn Runnalls was the guest of
honour and nearly 30 relatives
were present.
Mrs. Grant is a grand-daughter
of the late Mr. Alex McEwen
and as a child spent some
summer holidays at this farm.
Present also were her
husband, Dr. George Grant a
reactor chemist with the
Whiteshell Nuclear Research
Establishment, on holiday from
Pinawa, Manitoba with their
children Donald and Carol.
Also present were her great
uncle Mr. Wm. Tebbutt of
Goderich, Mrs. Wm. Sinclair of
Clinton, Mr. and Mrs. Ross
Fisher and family of Guelph, Mr.
and Mrs. John Broadfoot Sr., of
Brucefield and Junior of
Thamesford, Mr and Mrs.
Robert Broadfoot and family,
Brucefield, Stuart McEwen,
Clinton and Mr. and Mrs.
Stewart Middleton of Clinton
and many young nephews and
nieces.

The 17th annual Reid reunion
was held in the Community Hall
on Saturday, involving relatives
of Mrs. Harold Livingstone.
About 30 participated and
hailed from Winnipeg, Quebec,
London, Strathroy, Teesw.ater
and Ailsa Craig.
Mr. and Mrs. Ted Fothergill,
Heather and Dennis attended the
Crich-Moser wedding in Grace
United Church Tavistock on
Saturday June 27.
Mrs. Bette Napier of Texas
arrived last Thursday to
participate in her parents Mr,
and Mrs. Brunsdon's Goldem
Wedding celebration July 1.
Miss Pauline Airdrie attended
the Sterling-Clifton wedding in
Brucefield on Saturday. Miss
Donna Clifton was a former
classmate of Pauline.

39th Snell
reunion
The annual Snell Reunion was
held at Londesboro on Saturday
June 20, with 65 in attendance.
A variety of races and sports
were conducted for young and
old and a bountiful meal was
served in the I all.
The persons coming the
greatest distances ,were Mrs. Elva
Johnston, Toronto and Mr. and
Mrs. Russell Thompson,
Clarksburg. The largest family
was Mr. and Mrs. Wilfred Walker,
Wingham. The youngest baby
was Raymond, son of Mr. and
Mrs. Douglas Currie, Goderich.
Tickets were sold on a barbecue
and Mrs. Ray Fisher was the
winner,
President Donald Snell gave
two humerous readings.
The next picnic to be held at
Londesboro on the third
Saturday in June 1971. The
executive officers are the same
President, Don Snell, Waterloo,
secretary-treasurer Beatrice
Welsh, Bayfield. The
Committees were all returned.

A 'peanut scramble was held
for the small children.
Clintonian Club
The June meeting of the
Clintonian Club was held in
Bayfield at the home of Mrs.
Hopson with 23 ladies present,
. After a walk through the
flower garden all entered the
house and the meeting opened
with the ode, followed by the
Lord's prayer. A dutch auction
took place with Mrs. Bessie
Colclough and Mrs. Leppington
winning the articles. Final
arrangements were made for the
picnic which was held on June
24 in the Clinton Park with
about 40 present. A number of
games and contests were held
and the draw for the quilt took
place with Muriel Robinson
from London winning the quilt
with the lucky Number 194. Her
address is 707 Huron St.,
London, Ont.
The July meeting will be held
at Mrs. Bailey's home in
Bayfield. Cars will be at the post
office to take anyone wishing a
ride at 1:15 p.m.
