voiced over its future after that

the way they have this year,
TOUGH TO RECOMMEND
Bob and Carol and Ted and
Alice, the movie which played
for the last week at the Park in
Goderich, is one of those movies,
that you just don't know how to
recommend to others.
Personally, I found the movie
hilarious and at the same time
very sincere in the point it was
trying to make about sex in the
modern marriage. Yet other
friends have put the picture on
their "10 worst" list.
It is obviously a movie for
married couples, but beyond
that about the only way you
know if someone will like it or
not is if you are very, very good
friends and know the secrets of
their sex life.
HOPE TOPS
In case you get the feeling
that things are getting bad on
TV take Hope he's rolling along
good as ever.
Recent ratings were released
for 176 prime-time specials in the
U.S. on three networks during
the past year and Bob Hope had
six of the Top Ten ratings, plus
number 11.
His Christmas special was on
top, even better than the
Academy Awards.
MAYBE THEY'RE CRAZY
I was beginning to think that I
was 'the only one in the world
that was crazy. Everyone I've
spoken to has been completely
uncomplimentory in their
description My World and
Welcome To It.
Then the show won an Emmy
as best comedy program the
other night and showed me that
if I'm crazy at least I have
company.
Of course I guess it just puts
me in the same position as my
hating Beverly Hillbillies when
thousands wouldn't miss it.
BOOK SALE
If you're a book fiend you
could have a ball during the next
week in Toronto.
Ryerson Press is cleaning out
$600,000 worth of stockpiled
books in a giant bargain bash at
Varsity Stadium and Varsity
Arena. The big sale starts this
weekend and goes all week until
it closes out the next weekend.
Prices are severely slashed.

As one of a growing legion of
former Laugh-in fans, I was not
at all unhappy to see that that
program was not on the list of
Emmy award winners Sunday
night,
Your's truly is one of those
who feel the program has far
outlived its usefulness. When the
show was first introduced it had
a freshness that television badly
needed. By the time the program
was dropped by CTV and picked
up by CBC, the novelty had
worn off. By now it's just a drag.

Good weather brought a good
crowd along the route of the

Saturday afternoon.
The parade, although not as
large as the winter carnival

quality floats. Huron Fish and

from their park on the float with
them. Second was the BP float

Ball was first followed by
Rosemary Bird and the sister act
of Brenda, Heather and Patricia
Harris in third place. Frank van
Altena was fourth.

of the September meeting is
undecided. The meeting closed
with the Mizpah benediction.
