The purpose and motto were recited by all members. Miss Beverly Cantelon gave the prayer. The scripture •was read. by Miss Patsy Taylor, a poem was given by Miss Marianne Kalbfleisch. Miss Nancy Fawcett gave the minutes and roll call. The collection was taken ,rip by Miss Sylvia Wilson. It was decided to send $100 to Earls Court Children's Home in Toronto which will provide two units in the home. A hike and barbecue will be held this week if weather permits. 'he .first vice—president, Mrs. Donald Cartwright, was in charge and opened the meeting with the Ode, the Mary Stewart Collect and 0 Canada with Mrs. Robert J. Phillips at the piano. Mrs, Cartwright weleomed everyone and read a poem, Belong to a Club? The minutes Were atioptd as read by the secretary, Mrs. Donald. Haines. She also gave the financial statement which showed a good balance. The card report- was given by Mrs. Andrew Kirkeonnell and she read thank you notes from- Miss 0. Young, Mrs. Bert Daer and Mr. and Mrs. O. Free, The report of the Officers' Conference was given by the. delegate, Mrs. Leonard Archambault. Plans were made for the Iluronview Anniversary party on June 3 and Mrs. Ed Davies, Mrs. Thomas Lawlor and Mrs. Frank Raithby were placed • on a committee to be in charge, and Mrs. Robert Phillips to be in charge of the guest book. The District annual meeting is to be held at St. Helens on May 28 and Mrs. Bert Craig and Mrs. Ed Davies were named delegates. Mrs. Gordon Taylor was placed in charge of a musical number. Mrs. Thomas Lawlor presented the hall with two trays to hold the sugar and cream sets, It was announced that the picnic tables were placed down at the river park and Mrs. Frank Raithby and Mrs. Donald Cartwright have painted them. It was decided to have the next meeting in the evening and invite the Londesboro WI. and the Walkerburn Club. -Hostesses for the meeting are Mrs. Thomas Lawlor, Mrs, Ed Davies, Mrs. George Millian and Mrs. Eldon McLennan. Sherry Plaetzer presided for the program of the two 4—H Clubs. Piano solo— Doreen McClinchey, solo, Mocking Bird Hill, Lorraine Chamney adcompanied by Mrs. Donald PInes. Piano solo—Wanda t tzer, r,.errionstratiory of sandwhich plate centres, Sheron Collins and Gail Seers. Piano solo—Sherry Plaetzer. Arva Ball spoke on the Auburn No. 1 ,Exhibit—Five Ways with one Fruit. A duet, Count Your Many Blessings, was sung by Marie Empey and Carol Gross. Piano solo—Lynn Turner. Auburn No. 2 Family Meals with two fruits a day. The collection was taken up by Mrs. Alfred ,Fry and Mrs.' Thomas Lawlor. The Pennies for Friendship were received by Carol Seers. Sherry Plaetzer and Lynn Turner thanked their Leaders and the W.I. for the support of the 4-11 Club work. A successful auction of plants, bulbs and slips was held by the president, Mrs. L. Archambault. The meeting was closed with the Queen and the W.I. Grace. The 4—H Club members and their leaders served lunch of fruit bread, cheese 'and Grape sparkle. Mr. Frank Raithby is •a patient in Clinton hospital angering from an injured knee, Mr. George Milian is recovering from surgery in Clinton hospital. Mrs. gun' Arthur and Greg spent the weekend in OWen Sound with the formen daughter, Miss Judy Arthur, Mr. Allan McDougall of Sudbury spent the weekend with his parents Mr, and Mrs. Kenneth McDougall, Mr, and Mrs. Clayton Robertson of Copper Cliff were recent visitors with her parents Mr. and Mrs. William Straughan. She also visited with her daughter, Mrs. Ronald Rathwell, Mr. Rathwell and family for a few days. Mr. and Mrs. Ed Davies visited friends in Lambeth over the weekend. Mr. Charles Beadle of London spent the weekend at his home here. Mr. and Mrs. Robert Slater and family visited friends in St. Marys on Sunday, Mr. and Mrs. Keith Robinson of Toronto spent the weekend with his parents Mr. and Mrs. Ross Robinson. Mr. and Mrs. Donald Youngblut and family of London were recent visitors with his mother, Mrs. Ralph Munro. Mrs. Ralph Munro and Mrs. Sidney Lansing attended a' meeting in Clinton last week of the superannuated teachers. Mr. and Mrs. Roy Finnigan of Goderich visited on Saturday evening with Mr. and Mrs. Robert Phillips. Mr. and Mrs. Tom Johnston and Miss Laura Phillips. Mr, Harry Arthur spent the' weekend on a fishing trip near Sudbury with London friends. Obituary MRS. HARRY FREMLIN Funeral services were held at Arthur ' Funeral Home 4 Sunday May 24, for Mrs. Harty Fremlin who died at Huronview after alengthy illness. She was the former Julia Maude 'Ferguson, daughter of the late John Ferguson and Julia Case and was born in Auburn, June 10, 1884. Following her marriage to Harry Fremlin she resided in Clinton for many years. After his death she moved to Auburn where she lived until moving to Huronview. She Was 4 Member of Knox United Chureb, Auburn, and; is survived by one brother, Lloyd Ferguson, Goderich; two sisters--Miss May Ferguson Wingham and Mrs. Chester (Birdie) TaYler also of Wingham. Pastor Alfred Fry conducted the funeral services with burial. in Ball's cemetery, Pallbearers were Murray Taylor, Harold Taylor, Donald Taylor, Stewart Ferguson, William Pergtisen and. Father Kelly officiated. for the double—ring ceremony and the wedding music was played by Mrs. Robert Le Beau of Brucefield. Given in marriage by her father, the bride wore a white lace over satin dress with a dog—eared collar and teardrop neckline, flowered petals in her hair and carried a bouquet of red sweetheart roses and white daisies, Miss Elizabeth Hallam of Dungannon was bridesmaid wearing a dress of turquoise green satin, empire styled and carried a bouquet of white daisies. The best man was Mr. Johnny Weeks of Hamilton and the usher was Mr. Jerry Wocks of London. Following the wedding the reception took place at the home of the bride where the bride's mother received guests dressed in a three piece dark green knitted arnel suit with a corsage of red roses. For a wedding trip •to the United States the bride donned a pink lace empire styled dress with brown accessories. On their return they will take up residence in Brucefield. Guests were present from London, Hamilton and Toronto. Prior to her marriage the bride was honored by neighbours and friends at a shower in the Sunday school room of Knox United Church. King and. Hamilton of Moorefield attended the wedding of a niece Miss Nancy Thompson of Hamilton on Friday evening in St. Johns' United Church. A reception was held later at the Redwood Inn. Mr. and Mrs, Bill Cowan and Greg of Barrie spent Mother's Day weekend with his Mother Mrs. Geo. Cowan. We are pleased to learn that Mr. Morgan Jones returned home on Friday having had a weeks treatment in Clinton Hospital. Mr. Earl Gaunt is again a patient in Wingham Hospital. Mrs. Gaunt is spending a few days at her sons' home in Hanover. The sympathy of the village is extended to the members of the family of Mrs. Margaret McGill of Goderich whose passing on Friday night in Hospital Cast a gloom over her many friends who held her in high esteem. During her' sojourn in Londesboro she made many lasting friends and will always be remembered for her kindly consideration and thoughtfulness for others.
