been a patient in St. Joseph's
Hospital, London, for the past
two weeks, returned home

sister Mrs. Alma Hess,
Mrs. J. L. McCloy and
daughter Carrie of Don Mills,
spent the weekend with her
mother Mrs, Alma Hess.
The General Meeting of
Hensall U.C.W. was held in
Fellowship Hall on Monday,
May 25 with St. Peters Lutheran
Church Women of Zurich as
guests.
Unit 1 was in charge of the
meeting and Mrs. Howard Scane
who chaired the meeting
welcomed the visitors and read a
thought provoking poem "All I
worked for, I left Behind".
Musical numbers which
delighted the audience were
provided by 11 girls under the
direction of Miss Sararas and
Mrs. Beatrice Hess of Zurich.
Theme of the meeting was
Stewardship and Mrs. Scane read
My Stewardship. Mrs. , Walter
Spencer," who was in charge of
the Devotional, gave a few
thoughts on Stewardship.
Three skits were presented by
Mrs. David Kyle, Mrs. Robert
Cook, Mrs. Howard Scane and
Mrs. Albert Shirray. Mrs.
Spencer led in Prayer. Mrs. Wm.
Fuss acted as pianist for the
singing of a hymn and for the
Offering period.
Mrs. Harold Currie
introduced the guest speaker,
Mrs. G. W. Tiffin of Wingham,
who spoke on Stewardship. She
said that the world needs the
"Plus Sign" or the Cross. Take
the negative sign and put
yourself there, and Yotl,,will haye
a plus sign. Mrs. Tiffin '-le&in
Prayer. Mrs. Albert Shirray
thanked the speaker and the girls
for their contribution to the
meeting„,
The offering was taken by
Mrs. Ken Elder and Mrs. Jack
Consitt and the Dedication
Prayer was given by Mrs. Scane.
During the business portion,
chaired by the president Mrs.
Vern Alderdice, reports were
given for supply and welfare by
Mrs. E. Chipchase; treasurer's
report, Mrs, Walter Spencer;
visitation, Mrs. Lorne Hay; and
social functions, Mrs. Alderdice.
Motions were made to send
$50 for two children to be sent
to Camp and to purchase dishes
for the church.
• It was decided to have a
church service in charge of the
U.C.W. The meeting closed with
the Mary Stewart Collect and

Mrs. Bertha Jinks who
suffered a fall in her home
Friday was taken by ambulance
to South Huron Hospital.

A bursary of, $1,000 has been
awarded -tce • Miss Gertrud
Scheibal of Stratford, Ontario.
The announcement was made
recently by Mrs. W. E. Fleury,
Chairman of the Bursary
Committee. The award is offered
to Graduate Nurses registered in
Ontario by the Volunteer
Nursing Committee of The
Canadian Red Cross Society.
Miss Scheibal received her
Graduate Nursing certificate
from Guildford Hospital in
England, along with part 1 and
part 2 of her Midwifery training.
At the University of Ottawa she
completed a diploma course in

Bill enlisted in the Royal
Canadian Air Force as an
Aireraftsman Instrument
Technician in London, England,
in 1957, He later remustered to
Radar Technician, then joined
the Serving Airman Plan and was
enrolled in the University of
Alberta in 1964. He graduated
with a Bachelor of Science
Degree in Electrical Engineering
in 1968 and was commissioned
as a Lieutenant in the
Aeronautical Engineering branch
of the Canadian Armed Forces.
Bill was then transferred to
Canadian Forces Base Clinton as
an instructor in the Radar and
Communications School,
At present Bill is the Officer
in charge of the Technical
Support section of R.,&CS..
However, with the planned
phase-out of CFB Clinton be will
be transferred to CFB Kingston
in August, 1970, to assume
command of a Basic Electronics
Company at that Base,
Bill's parents, Mr. and Mrs. W.

commencing its annual census and enumeration prOgrarnme
in the City of Stratford, Town of St. Marys, and all towns,
villages and townships in the two counties, June 1st. It is
