On Friday evening, April 17,
1970, in the Christian Reformed
Church, Clinton two candelabra
with mauve and white daisies,
set the scene for a pretty spring
wedding when 'Gerry Gerrits- and
Robert Neutel Were united in
marriage by the Reverend Alvin.

The bride is the daughter of
Mrs. Margjie Gerrits and the late
Herman Gerrits, of RR 1,
Clinton, and the groom is the
son of Mr, and Mrs. Harm Neutel
of RR 4, Woodstock.
Given in marriage by her
brother, John Gerrits of
London, the bride wore an
A-line fitted gown of white
taffeta with a rolled collar
trimmed with white seed pearls.
An A-line overlay of Chantilly
lace came around to the
non-detachable cathedral train
and the dress had lily point
sleeves made of Chantilly lace.
She carried a bouquet of white
daisies.
The maid of honour, Miss
Margaret Qerrits, sister of the
bride, wore a full length
empire-style dress of mauve
taffeta with a chiffon overlay
and chiffon train. The junior
bridesmaid, Miss Susan Veenstra,
of Strathroy, niece of the bride,
wore a similar dress in pale
yellow. Both girls carried mauve
and white daisies and their
The monthly meeting of the
Huron County Medical
Secretaries Association was held
on May 6 at the Seaforth
Medical Centre.
The banner was presented to
our local president, Mrs. Donna
Fisher, Goderich, at the
Convention in Toronto on April
28, 29. Each town will have a
turn in keeping the Banner, and
it shall be brought to each
meeting.
Minutes of the previous
meeting were read and the
Treasurer's Report was given.

reception was held • at the
Clinton Community Centre. The
bride's mother wore a green and
silver brocade dress with
matching hat and black
accessories and a corsage of pink
rosebuds. The groom's mother
chose a nice orange crimplene
suit with a corsage of
orange-tinted rosebuds and black
and white accessories,

trip to the southern United
States and shall be residing at
RR 4, Woodstock, Ontario.
Prior to her marriage, the
bride. was honoured at showers
given by Mrs. W. Shoemaker,

Ladies' Club, at the home of
Mrs. P. Westerhout, Clinton; by
Mrs. A. de Jong, Bayl'ield: and
fellow employees of Dominion
Road Machinery Company Ltd.,
of Goderich entertained the
bride-elect at dinner.
Guest speaker for the evening
was Mr. Albert A. Potvin, from
Pitney-Bowes, who displayed a
new addresser-printer for
imprinting (lsip cards. The
doctors were invited to attend
this meeting so that they also
would have a chance to view this
ad dresser-pr inter.
Miss 'Charlotte McKercher,
Seaforth, was winner of the
leather purse, which was
donated by Newcombe's Drug
Store, Clinton,
Coffee and lunch was served
by the Seaforth girls.

pianist, Mrs. Cliff Stewart closed
with Prayer. Mrs. Florence
Oliver then took charge of the
programme which consisted of
Skit on "Stewardship". Mrs,
Wilfred Jervis, Mrs. Greta
Nedeger, Mr's, Eimer Hugill and
Mrs. Oliver taking part. Mrs.
Oliver .closed with two poems.
Mrs. Don Andrews then led
the ladies in a sing-song of some
of the newer hymns. Mrs.
Beattie conducted the business.

Legion ladies
meet for May
The Ladies Auxiliary to the
Royal Canadian Legion held
their May meeting on
Wednesday, May 6, in the
Legion Hall with the
president, Mrs. Harold Black
presiding.
The Auxiliary has had a very
busy spring catering to a number
of large banquets with several
coming up in the next month. A
bus trip to Toronto was
tentatively discussed for June, as,
a wind—up for the members, of
a busy season.
It was decided to buy a fan
for the kitchen and new drapes
for the men's lounge. The
attendance draw of $5.00 did
not go. and from June meeting
names will be drawn until there
is a winner present, and this
member will not he eligible for
the attendance draw for the
balance of that year. Hilda
Semple won the share—the—
wealth prize. A penny sale will
-be held at the June meeting.
AL the bowling tournament
held in Seaf'orth on Thursday
May 7, a Clinton team came in
second with 3354 points,
winning the zone trophy. Gerry
Harris tied for high triple with a
total of 668. Members of the
team were Bessie Black, Gerry
Harris, Elsie Morrell, Millie
Hanley, Vivien Knights, Wonetta
Holland.
