A group of Cubs from Bayfield presented their mothers with handsome presents on Mother's Day,
The boys made lamps from driftwood with the help of their leader, Don Johnson (rear). The boys

The Clintonian Club held
their May meeting in the town
Hall. The president, Mrs. Hartley.
Managhan Opened the Meeting
with' the creed, followed by the'
Lord's prayer in unison.
Nineteen answered the roll call.
The financial statement was
given by Mrs, Frank Cummings.
Mrs. Russell Coklough gave the
minutes of the last meeting. Mrs.
Via Lampman, Mrs. Murriel,
Mrs, Bessie Colclough, and Mrs.
Hartley Managhan, were
appointed to go to the Mary
Hasting meeting in London on
May 26.
It was decided to' have the
picnic, on June 24 in the Clinton
park and to invite rWingham,

Brownies in the Fairy Ring.
The Brownies presented a
programme of Brownie songs
and drills.
Mrs, McCreath .enrolled
Tweenies Freda Bill and Anne
Talbot and. presented Golden
Bars to Brownies Dianne Garrett
and Mary Ann Rathwell.
In a Golden Hand eeremony
the . following Brownies were
presented with ' their Golden
Hands: Dawn Emma McLeod,
Shirley Brandon, Connie Talbot,
Lori Peck, Patti Lynn Greer.
Receiving first year service
stars were, Wendy Turner, Traci
Mitchell, Kathy McFadden,
Wendy Talbot and Debbie
Talbot.
Second year service .stars were
presented to: Dianne Garrett
and Mary Ann Rathwell.
Third year service stars went
to: Bonnie Makins, Cathy
Merner, Susan Beek and Faith
Renner. Proficiency badges were
presented to Connie Talbot and
Patti Lynn Greer,
A special presentation was
made by the Brownies. to helper
Wendy Rathwell who is being
married on May 15.
Following the Closing prayer
and song, the Brownies served
donuts and coffee to their
guests.
Mrs. Gilbert Knight was in
Toronto for several days last
week. She returned home on
Saturday accompanied by Mr.
and Mrs. Art • Latimer and
family, who spent the weekend
with her,
Mrs, J, H, Cobb is presently a
patient in Kincardine and
District General Hospital,
Weekend, visitors to the village
and staying at the Albion Hotel
were. Wayne Sedgwick,
' Dennis Shobbrook, Everett
Veldhips of Galt; Mrs'. George
Khlanzis, Birmingham Mich.;
Mrs. J. E. Kidd, London and
John. D. Atkinson of London.
Mrs, Ellwood Robinson and
Michael Scotchmer attended a
Zodiac party held at Mrs.
Norman Brown's studio in
London on Friday evening.
Mr. and Mrs, Hugh Gregory
and children, London, spent the
weekend in the village.
Mr- and Mrs. Doug Deller and
Kerry of Orangeville spent
Sunday with Mr. and Mrs,
, Delbert Haw, joining the family
for Mother's Day were Mr. and
Mrs. Don Haw and children.
Mr. and Mrs. W. E. Parker
spent Friday until Sunday with
their sons' and families in
Dorchester and London.
Mrs. Jack Fraser of Vancouver
was in London last , week
attending the funeral of her
father, the late Mr. W,
Hammond.
Mrs. Fraser spent Wednesday
with relatives and friends in
Clinton and Bayfield before
returning home on Saturday.
The Bayfield Hockey Club
and their ladies gathered at the
,Community Centre on Saturday
evening for the Club's annual
banquet, They tell me that
during the hockey season, coach
Pat Graham's hat was used very
effectively, only to disappeatat
the final game.
However following dinner on
Saturday, Carl Humphries, on
behalf of the Club presented Pat
with a plaque surmounted by his
hat and bearing the inscription
"Pat, The hat, Graham, a swell
guy and deserving coach, from
Bayfield Hockey Club".

W.Gemeiner of Grosse Pointe,

Hayman and family of Belleville.
Mrs. J. Jowett is a patient in
Clinton Hospital.
