Mr. Alfred Butler of Madison, Wisconsin, and Mr. Fred Scotehmer, Clinton, were dinner guests with Mr. and Mrs. Delbert Haw on Friday. The former has been visiting his mother, Mrs. M. J. Butler of •Clinton, who is a patient in the Goderich Hospital. Miss Hazel Works of Teeswater spent Sunday with Mr. and Mrs. R. Roy Fitzsimons and family. Mrs. J. Jowett was able to return home last week from Clinton Hospital. Sunday visitors with Mr. and Mrs. W. E. Parker were Mr. and Mrs. W. C. Parker, Charlie and Kim of London and Mr. and Mrs. Robert T. Parker, Pam, Jack and David of Dorchester. Mrs. F. MCGregor presided for a meeting of the Ontario Street U.C.W. on Tuesday, with 34 members in attendance. `From racism toward Full Community' was the theme of the devotional period, taken by Mrs. Les. Lawson. Miss Edna Jamieson gave' a splendid paper on the Study book. The subject was on "Indian Canadians". Mrs. G. Potter and Mrs. G. Wright will attend the week-end for women at VVestminister College, London, at the end of May. A coffee party and bake sale will be held in the ladies' parlor on May 14 from 9:30 — 11:30 A bale of clothing will be packed on May 12. Miss Margaret Ellen Lawson will be guest speaker at the General meeting May 13 at 8 p.m. Miss Marion Doucette sang two beautiful solos accompanied by Mrs. A. Langdon. Mrs. Reg. Smith will convene Rebekahs hold regular meeting The regular meeting of the Huron* Rebekah Lodge held its regular meeting on Monday May 4, with noble grand Mrs. Clarence Sturdy in the chair. The property committee reported , some new equipment for the kitchen also more stacking tables ordered. Sunday May 10 will be the service for the Rebekahs and Oddfellows to be held in St. Pauls Anglican Church, Clinton, at 11.30 a.m. Fifty dollars was donated to the Visual Eye Research. Suggestions were made on celebrating the Loages 4ten anniversary. Mrs. Kurt Van Riesen won the draw. The May group served lunch. the program for the June meeting and Mrs. G. Potter of the January group will be in charge of the lunch. The meeting closed with the mizpah benediction after which a social half-hour was spent with Mrs. C. Martins group serving lunch. CWL plans bake sale The monthly meeting of the Catholic Wolnen's League was held in the parish hall on Monday evening May 4. Sister Cryil Reynolds showed slides on Peru and how people lived in that country. Mrs. " Alfred Goldsworthy, visiting convenor, reported that 16 calls had been made during April: Future plans were also made for the bake- sale and tea which will be held in the Parish hall on Mrs:,',MiCkael'<lSeineriluk - and` Mrs. Patsy Armstrong, were appointed to look after the altars for the month of May., The mystery prize was won by Mrs. Rita Flynn. News of Middleton The A.C,W; of St. James, Middleton will meet at 2 p.m. Wednesday afternoon, May 13 in the Church. This will be the annual "joint" meeting with the A.C.W. of Trinity Church Bayfield as special guests. Mrs. Clare Magee of Clinton will be the guest speaker and will show rare slides of wildflowers. There will also be a plant sale at this meeting. Please bring anything • that will grow. The roll-call is a biblical verse containing a flower or a tree.
