Bert Clifford, secretary-treasurer of the Clinton intermediate baseball club seems to be longing for
a little of the miracle of the Montreal Expos in getting their field ready for the first game of the
year. The Clinton field is presently being renovated by the Kinsmen's club and is one large mud

Toby wins top prize at show 'again

Beethoven a puppy better
known as just plain Toby has
won another prize.
The dachshund from Clinton
Kennels won the blue ribbon for
best Junior Puppy at the %.
Catherfnes and District tenth All
Breed Championship Dog Show
on Saturday.
Toby, who is owned and
handled by Jean Brautigam also
won the ribbon for reserved
winners. He is working hard
toward his championship so he
may add to his family tree of 34
generations of champions.

draw winner, Ed Layton.

league held its annual banquet in
Brucefield Church basement
Monday.
Following a turkey dinner
awards were made for the past
season with President Mac
LeBeau presiding. The league
winning team, the Canaries
included: Carol LeBeau, Betty
Graham, Joan Grunewald, Dave
Triebner, Don Brodie and Yoost
Venstra.
The winning team for
play-offs, winning the Ross
Scott trophy was the Vultures,
with Mrs. Vi Ross, Isabel
Rogerson, Joanne Aidwinkle,
Mel Graham, Gordon Thompson
and Don Adams.
Individual awards were made
to the most improved bowler Vi
Ross, up 30 points; ladies high
average, Joanne Aidwinkle, 189;
high triple, Betty Graham, 709;
high single, Judy Layton, 298;
Men's high average, Maynard
HymerS, 208; high triple, Ed
Layton , 774; high single, Mel
Clinton's Easter Seal
campaign donations have
reached $1,160 as of Tuesday
this week. This is nearly 85
Percent of the Objective Of
$1,350 as, set by Clinton Mops
Club's Crippled Children's
Committee headed by A. Laurie
Colquhotin.
The Campaign, run in
conjunction with the Ontario
Society for Crippled Children, is
being continued locally to allow
Clinton to meet its objective.
The funds drive normally ends
on Easter weekend.
Over 1,600 mailings were
mailed out to Clinton and
district homes this year. These
mailings included a pink return
envelope for the convenience of
the donor. Send your donation
in today in the pink envelope, or
you can make your gift directly
to D. W. Cornish at Clinton
Electric Shcp who is in charge of
collections,
The provincial objective of
$1,600,000 is far short of its
goal, according to R. Auld,
executive director of the
Society.
