2 Clinton News-IIPPOrc Thursday, March 12,11970
Corist(irice Mill" 11 ailI aanavaaa saumatiaanuamtu _ ....
Stncienta at CHS$ could
heave a sigh of relief Friday
,oilght at the conclusion of
exams. With a holiday March 13
for a Teachers' Conference and
spring vacation in the Offing,
there should he many light
hearts.
Spring must be close as
moving days are here on Albert
Street, News-Record employees
observed great activity at the
Ontario Hydro office recently
when office equipment was
moved to the lower end of
Albert Street to the premises
formerly occupied by.
Huron
Co-op Medical Services. This is.
to be an Inspection and Sales
centre staffed by Don
Kempston, Budd Kuehl, Mrs.
Barbara Oesch and a temporary
inspector, Mr. William
Btherington, of Stratford who
will be in the office two days
weekly. in the near future
another representative, Mr. Chan
Livingstone, of Exeter Will be
added to the staff.
Not so noticeable was the
removal * of Walt Gardiner's
Barber Shop frem one side of
Albert Street to the other; to the
building which formerly housed
Eaton's.
E. B. Menzies' Law Office'is a
hive of activity too. The office
staff has moved to the rooms
upstairs above the office while
renovations are being made
downstairs, The former Gardiner
barber shop will be part of the
completed project, It is hoped
that the work will be finished in
two or three weeks, .
Mr.' Menzies says he has
found books he didn't know he
possessed, among them, one
dating back to 1832.
Something of interest to the
ladies of the town and to the
children should be the Kisoon
Park family who will visit St.
Andrews' Presbyterian Church
on Saturday afternoon at the St.
Patrick's Tea. This family is
Korean and will have a display
of Korean dolls on hand. The
entire proceeds of the sale of
these hand-made dolls goes to
support Korean orphans.

announeed , that he would
recommend that the nreject be
deferred until more information
is available,
A voice frOM the back of the
hall shooed that there -.should be
ne deferal.
Mrs. Jack Stafford SIWPorted
the opposition to a deferal. "Let
them negotiate," she said from
the floor, "then we'll talk
business,"
Mr. . MacNaughton then
slugged his shoulders and Asked
what the Meeting
recommend be done.
The meeting finally seemed
to reach a consensus when it Was
agreed that Public Works
OffiCialS, should go ahead and
evaluate the land, make their
offers to the farmers involved
and see what the general feeling
toward the project is. If the
majority of the landowners are
in favour of the project going
ahead, studies of flooding. and
surveying would then take place
before the actual acquisition of
land began,
