Lust Thursday night, • the
rough Crediton 13erigals
outinuscled the colts fora 5.3
win. The game was extremely
rough. Leading the hostilities for
Creditors were Paul Young and
Dennis Morrisey. Young picked
up four of Crediton's 15 minors.
and Morrisey got three fighting
majors and a game misconduct.
In one of the fights he applied a
stick to Bun &ayes head.
Fortunately Boyes was wearing a
helmet.
The score was 2-2 at the end
of the first period on Clinton
goals by Ken Daer and Randy
Clew and Creditors markers by
Morrisey and Gary Parsons.
Crediton scored the winner
on a powerplay with Bob Gruber
scoring. Ken Fraser scored the
final goal with 20 seconds left in
the game.
The Pee Wee Ponies finished
out their regular schedule this
week with four games in five
'nights including two wins over
Seaforth by 3-0 scores and losses
to Mitchell (3-1) and Goderich
(4-1).
In the home game with
"Seaforth, Robin McAdam scored
on two rebounds, the first from
Greg Butler and the second from
Jamie Thompson.
Late in the period John
Graham set up Greg Butler for a
perfect goal.
On Friday night the club
outplayed Mitchell for two and a
half periods but excellent
goaltending held the Ponies to
only one goal, a long shot from
John Graham. Then, midway
through the third period,
Mitchell tied the score and went
ahead five minutes later. Their
third goal was scored in an
empty net.
Back in Seaforth on Saturday
night, the Ponies skated to
another 3-0 win on two
beautifully set up goals by Jamie
Thompson and Steve Cook. Billy
Irwin scored on a long shot.
The excellent goaltending of
Robert Harkes helped keep the
score down to 4-1 for Goderich:
The big Goderich club opened

Hockey is as big with the
blind as it is with the sighted,
according to Jack Clements,
District Field Secretary, The
Canadian National Institute for
the Blind, about 75 percent of
Canada's blind population take
an active interest in the game.
"That's ,because blind people are
people", he said in a special
interview for White Cane Week
conducted by his organization
and The Canadian Coulicil of the
Blind. "They follow hockey by
radio or TV and forecast the
winner of the Stanley Cup as
accurately as any other armchair
stick-handler."
But blind persons are no mere
spectator sports. About 3,000
bowl and others curl. They listen
for the sounds of the ball on the
lane and the satisfying thud
when it hits the pins or the
disappointing roll when it drops
into the gutter. The blind curler
listens for the vocal directions
from the skip and the sweep.
Blind Canadians are active
members of service clubs. They
take on committee work along
with the sighted and contribute
to the community program.

the Field Secretary said, "but

when they defeated the
Monkton club at the

been disastrous for the Colts, as
their checking game fell apart
and they made few rushes. The
amazing goaltending of . Daer
kept Monkton down to only two
goals in the period.
