The Kinette Pion Of Hensall

home of Mrs. Alvin Cann:*i.
PreSident Mrs. Harold Knight
welcomed the, special guest Mrs.
Ken Pollock,
Donations were made to, the
Mental Retardation Association
and to March of Dimes which
the Kinettes sponsored Monday
February 2nd in a canvass of the
village.
Plans were finalized for the
club's assistance at the arena
booth for the winter carnival
Weekend. "
The meeting ended with the
club making decorations for the
Kinsmen and Kinette float
which was entered in the parade,
An evening service of Holy
Communion was celebrated at
0 St. Paul's. Anglican Church by
the Rey. G. A. • Anderson.
Flowers in the church were in
memory of the late James A.
Fester placed by the family,
Mr, and Mrs. Albert Shirray
have returned from a month's
holiday in Florida. Mr. and Mrs.
Douglas Shirray flew down to
Tampa and accompanied them
home,
Capt. John R. Beer of
Winnipeg, spent the weekend
with Mr. and Mrs. Fred Beer,
and' Mr. and Mrs. George Beer
and family.
• Mrs. Gladys Coleman and
Mrs. Esther Moffatt left Sunday
for a vacation in Florida.
Miss Sylvia Henderson has
been transferred to the Bank of
Montreal, London, England, and
leaves from Toronto
International Airport February
7th.
Mrs. Herb Stretton was taken
by Westlake ambulance, Zurich,
to South Huron Hospital, Exeter
on Thursday, January 29.
Service in the Hensall United
Church Sunday morning was
prepared by the Hi-C Youth'
Fellowship and was directed by
them. The group is composed of
the young people from both
Chiselhurit and Hensall
congregations.
Miss Donna Forrest president
for the Hi-C presided for the
service and included a scripture
drama, "Hello God — Is That
You" by Nancy Forrest and
Mary Mock.
Chorus "Blowing In the
Wind" was sung by Shirley
Brintnell, Jean Cole, Ann Keys,
Mary Mock, Cathy Cook.
A panel discussion on
religion, drugs, alcohol, sex and
communications taken ' by Janet
Ecker, Bob Read, Carmen
Currie, Mary Mock with
moderator being Glenn Webster,
Toc Alpha representative.
The Hi-C were very grateful
for the assistance provided in the
service by Miss 'Janet Ecker and
Bob Read, of Exeter and for the
presence of Glenn Webster of
Auburn who came as a
representative of the Alcohol
and Drugs Concern Institute,
Toc Alpha Youth section.

Hensall Kinette '.Club.
canvassed the Village on Monday
.evening for one hour and
collected $285.00 for the March
of Dimes,. the lgrgest amount
ever raised. Ten Kinette
members and eight vnionteers
did the canvassing, Chief
Marching Mother was Mrs. Grant
McGregor,
At the 11ensall Winter
Carniyai five lucky draws were
made and the winners are; first
prize,. binoculars, Bob Turner,
RR 1, Zurich; second prize,
radie, Ed Fink, Hensall;' third
prize, luggage, Frank Varley,
Hensall; fourth prize, wool
blanket, Jamie Caldwell, Hensall;
fifth prize, ladies wrist watch,
Nancy Underwood, (10 years of
\age) of Huron Park, Centralia.
The draw took place at the arena
Saturday night with Reeve
Oliver Jaques drawing the lucky
tickets. The I,O.O.F. Hensall
Lodge 223 was in charge of the
draw.
W. J. Clement of Sale's and.
Service who recently fractured
his leg in a snowmobile accident
is doing nicely and able to get
around with a walking cast.
Mr. and Mrs. Sandy Bisset are
honeymooning at Corpus
Christi, Texas, with the latter's
sister, Miss Pauline Bell and were
guests on "Holiday on Ice."
JAMES A. FOSTER
James A. Foster, prominent
resident of Hensall for
fifty-three years passed away in
South Huron Hospital, Exeter,
on Tuesday January 27; in his
81st year. Surviving are his wife
the former Allota (Lottie)
Hildebrant, two sons Harold,
Hensall; Ray, Shipka; Jean, Mrs.
Harry Smith, London; Marie,
Mrs. Bill Howe, Toronto. He was
predeceased by a son Lorne. One
sister Mrs. Jacob Battler, RR, 3,
Zurich, one brother, Albert,
Biggar, Sask;' 15 grandchildren
and nine great-grandchildren also
survive.
Mr. and Mrs. Foster
celebrated their diamond
wedding anniversary in August
1969.
The late Mr. Foster rested at
the Bonthron Funeral Home
until Friday January 30, when
Requiem High Mass was said by
Father A. Durand at 11 a.m. in
St. Boniface Roman Catholic
Church, Zurich. Interment in St.
Boniface cemetery.
Prayer was given Thursday
evening at 8 p.m. in the funeral
home.
Pallbearers were Louis Erb.
Ross Perry, Vern Sommers, John
Hart, George Hildebrand,
Alphonsus Dietrich.
