The steel is going up on this 336 by 220 foot building by Boise
Cascade in Hensall. The new factory will produce mobile homes
employing an additional 150 persons. The plant is located in the
southwest part of the village. Boise Cascade owns the company..

To finance the projects
undertaken • the auxiliary
sponsored vanishing parties, a
craft and hobby show, a penny
sale and a membership drive.
Through the participation of the
public in the wide area the
hospital serves, the net proceeds
from the project raised a total of
more than $2100.
In a brief regular meeting of
the auxiliary prior to the annual
session, members requested Mrs.
MacLean to suggest that the
property committee of the
hospital board, of governors meet
with the auxiliary's buying
committee regarding the
question of new drapes in the
west wing of the hospital.
A croupette will be purchased
by the auxiliary to be used for
respiratory conditions in
pediatrics. Cost is estimated at
$223.
The payment of $30 was
authorized for the auxiliary's
membership fee in the Hospital
Auxiliary Association of
Ontario.
Volunteers offered to make
71 yards flannelette purchased
by the auxiliary, into 25 sheets
for the children's ward.
Thank you notes were
received for Christmas gifts the
auxiliary sent to Miss Kathleen
Elliott, R.N., supervisor of
nursing; Mrs Ruth Elliott,
dietician, as well as the bursary
award winners,

car-truck accident resulting in
damage to both vehicles,
Ronald Ross Hildebrand,
HMS Kootenay, FMO Halifax,
Nova Scotia was involved in a
single car accident on highway 8,
east of Goderich on January 10.
Damage resulted to the vehicle.
On January 10 on county
road one, south of Lucknow,
Norma McDonagh, Lucknow
and Hendrik Veldhorst, R.R. 7,
Lucknow were involved in a two
car accident resulting in minor
damage to the vehicles.

open house was held for the
public on annual hospital day in
May.

county in an attempt to
encourage fairer pricing. If, for
example, they discover a type of
feed selling for less money at
one place in the county than at
another they will inform
members of the location of the
bargain.
The directors also approved a
recommendation that the
provincial organization should
pay for resources from one
county used to recruit direct
memberships in another county.
This wouldVnean, among other
things, reimbursement for
federation officials asked to go
outside their own county to
recruit members.

He spoke on the new method of
taxing farmland separately from
buildings. Under this system,
land would be graded according
to its value for farming all the
way from number one to
number seven with assessment
running from $200 per acre for
the number one grade, top
farming land down to $15 per
acre for number seven
wasteland.
Mr, Pattison said that much of
the number one land in the
province is located in Huron
County,

riding gathered to choose
delegates to the annual meeting
of the Liberal Party in Ontario,
to be held February 19 to 21 in
Ottawa.

highway 21, south of Goderich
an accident occurred involving
three cars, A car driven by Peter
Bilstra, R.R. 2, Goderich was in
collision with cars driven by
Flora Jean Hesk, R.R. 2
Goderich and Ronald Luke
Martin of Blackstone, Ontario.
Minor damage was done to the
Bilstra and Martin vehicles.
William Kolkman, R.R. I,
Clinton, was involved in a single
car accident on highway 21,
north, of county road 25 on
January 8, Minor damage to the
car resulted.
On Friday, January 9 on
county road 1 at the junction of
the fourth and fifth concession,
