A • lovely wedding was
solemnized at St. John's
Lutheran Church, Grayling,
Michigan, by Rev. Robert
Haskell, December 20, when
Janet daughter of Mr. and
Mrs. Harvey Rowland, Grayling,
Michigan, became the bride of
James Roy Bentley, son of Mr.
and Mrs. Roy Bentley, Goderich.
The bride wore a white crepe
gown and carried red and white
long stem roses.
Mrs. Karen' Carlson, Mt.
Pleasant, Michigan, cousin of the
bride, attended as matron of
honour in a pale green gown.
Ted Carlson, Mt. Pleasant,
Michigan, was best man.
Following a honeymoon in
Michigan, Mr, and Mrs. Bentley
will reside in Goderich.

Mrs. F. McGregor presided for
a meeting of the afternoon unit
of the Ontario Street
Tuesday with 32 inemhers and

The warship service was
conducted by Mrs. George Potter •
assisted by Mrs. P. BrOwn and
Mrs: L. McConnell, the theme
being, "What Makes the New
Year."
Mrs. A. Coleman, retiring
leader, then gave the reading,
"And I said to the mart, who
stood, at the gate of the year."
After annual reports were
given, Mrs. G.,Potter gave a topic
on "Change."
The NI/Omen's World Day of
Prayer will be held in the
Wesley-Willis church, March 7.
The Huron-Perth Prosivtertat
-will be held in the Wesley-Willis
church January 29,
Mrs. M. Batkin and Mrs. 'A.
Groves were appointed to be
delegates.
The annual meeting of the
general U,C.W. will be held
Wednesday evening January 14.
Mrs. J. Gibson will be in
charge of the February 3
meeting and Mrs. H. !Johnston's
group will serve lunch.
A social half hour was spent
with the June group serving a
delicious lunch.

Sacrament Service was
observed on. Sunday morning
with five new Memhera added to
the roll in, the persons of Mr, and
Mn.. Carl Nesbit, William
Bromley Mrs. Clare
Vincent and Mr, Orville Kellancl.
Christmas Day guests with Mr.
and Mrs. Bert Shobbrook were
Mr. and Mrs. Ron Ellerby and
family, Brian Potter of Clinton,
Mr. and Mrs. Ross Millson and
family of Woodstock: and Mr.
Ken Vodden. Mrs. Millson and
children remained for the
holiday week.
Mr. and MrS. Barry Pipe and
daughter of London, visited with
his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Lloyd
Pipe.
Mrs. Harold Livingstone
visited with her family in
Dorchester, Exeter and London,
she also spent New Year's in
London.
Mr. Will Clavier had his three
daughters and families for
Christmas.
Mr. and Mrs, Ed Youngblut
spent the weekend with their
son and family/in Goderich.
Mrs. Jewel Cowan
accompanied by her sister Mrs.
Robinson, spent the holiday
week with her son Bill and
family at Barrie.
Mrs. Gladys Gourley 'visited
with her stepdaughter at Acton
and friends in Toronto.
Mr. and Mrs. Jim Mawing
and Kathleen spent the holiday
in Florida.
Mrs. Mabel Scott spent a few
days with her daughter The
Broadfoots and her son. Ken and
wife of Niagara Falls joined
them for Christmas.
Mrs. Jewel Cowan, Mrs.
Gourley and Mrs. Allen spent
New Year's with Mrs. Robinson.
Little Donny Allen who has
been a patient in Clinton
Hospital since last , Thursday is
showing improvement and we
hope will soon be home.
Mr. Jim Neilans and Mrs-
Allen spent Christmas evening
with the Airdries.
Mrs. Myrtle Fairservice 'and
Ann motored -to Detroit for the
holiday week with her brother
Dave Mair and Martha.
Mr. Jim Neilans left Tuesday
morning' for a holiday with his
cousins in Denver, Colo.

and family spent New Year's
with The Airdrie family.

Notice. Regarding
Garbage Collection
Pursuant to By-law No. 3 for 1966
Effective as of January 1, 1970 .
The regulations regarding garbage collection are now
being enforced in order to meet disposal requirements at
the new dump. They were formulated by the Council of
Clinton in 1966 and are not the result of a law passed
by the present council, nor is the enforcement to
accommodate Mr. Clarence Neilans, the local garbage
collector.
