This Week In

Mrs. C. H. Curts
Native Of Hay
Mrs. Charles II. Curts died
St. Joseph’s Hospital, London,
December 10, where she had been
confined for the past five weeks.
Mrs. Curts, whose maiden name
was Susannah Schrader, was born
in Hay township. Her parents
were among the early settlers in
that district. She was a member
of Dashwood Evangelical Church
until her marriage in 189 6 when
her membership was transferred
to Greenway Methodist Church.
Surviving are four sons and
three daughters, her husband hav
ing predeceased her nearly four
years ago: Elton and Lawrence,
of McGillivray; William, of Lon
don; Manuel, at home; Mrs. Ken
neth (Luella) Smithers, of Park
hill; Viola, London, and Evelyn,
at home, Eight grandchildren and
two great grandsons survive; also
one step-brother, William Lemp-
ke, of Imlay City, Mich.
Rev. W. C. Smith officiated at
the funeral services which were
held on Monday from her late res
idence followed by a public ser
vice in Greenway United Church.
Interment was in Parkhill Ceme
tery.
The grandchildren carried the
floral tributes and the pallbearers
were Lisle and Emerson Wood
burn, James and Harvey Eagle-
son and Lloyd and Arthur Bro-
phey.
