Verity, S7. promin- !eut industrialist in Brantford for many years, who died recently, was born at Exeter. He had lived in Brantford since 1897, the Verity Plow Works from Exeter to that city. As superintendent and president of the firm for many years, he became widely known, and had traveled extensively as foreign representative, going to Australia, Africa, Europe and South America. He retired in 1930, and the company later be­ came the Verity Works of the Massey-Harris Co. Ltd., Massey-Harris-Ferguson. Mr Verity was active in ious matters, and bis main est for many years -was in Col- borne Street Methodist Church (now United). He was Sunday School superintendent for a quar­ ter of a century, an elder for many eyars, and was one of the founders of the church orchestra. For the last six years lie had been a member of Brant Avenue United Church. He was also an active partici­ pant in Board of Trade activities and other community affairs. Surviving are three sons, Reg­ inald E., Dr. George E., both of Brantford; and Dr. Lloyd E. Verity, Battle Creek, Mich.; one brother, Percy E., Toronto; five grandchildren and one great­ grandchild.
