Mr, and Mrs. George Murdoch and daughter, Joy, of Hagers- ville, were weekend guests of Mr, and Mrs. Andrew Dixon. Mr. and Mrs. Roland Wight, of Thedford, spent Sunday with Mr. and Mrs. Edgar Squire. Mr, and Mrs, Wilson Morley and Mr. and Mrs. Edgar Squire attended the funeral of the late Mrs. Dan Hampton of Forest on Saturday. Mrs. Fred Harris Usborne Native Mrs. Fred Harris, mother of Mr. Allan Miller, of Hensall, died at her home in Carrieville, Sask. She was the former Mary Ellen (Nellie) Harris and w^s born in Usborne township in 187'0', the daughter of John and Mary Wakelin Harris. .Surviving besides her husband are a daughter, Maude (Mrs. Davey), of Seabright, Ont., and her son, Allan Miller, by a prev­ ious marriage. Eilber, of Crediton, was held on Saturday afternoon from the Evangelical TJ.B. Church, con­ ducted by the minister, Rev. E. N. Mohr, Assisting Mr. Mohr was Rev. W. 0. Parrott, of the United Church, Crediton, and Rev. H. E. Roppell, of Zurich.Attending the service in a body were a number of insurance men, six of whom acted as bear­ ers. Members of the Masonic Order from Exeter and Parkhill were also present and conducted a Masonic service at the cemetery with the W.M. Bro. Andy Snel- grove officiating. Others elected were: resident, Mrs. Gerald second vice-president, gene Beaver; secretary, Mrs. Stan Frayne; treasurer, Mrs. Gerald Campbell; auditor, Eugene Bea­ ver; executive, Mrs. Ed Wurm, Mrs. Elmore Harness, Mrs. Fred Simmons, Mrs. Ray Broderick, Mrs. William Cutting; standard bearer, Mrs. Jack Cutting; assist­ ant, Mrs. Ed. Wildman. Plans were made for the an­ nual Snowball Frolic to he held in January and for two banquets, for which the Auxiliary will cater. Tickets on a hostess chair will be sold by the members. Fifty dollars was voted to the Flood Relief fund. President Mrs. Harvey Pfaff conducted the busi­ ness meeting. The mystery prize was won by Tom Pryde Runs Again Tom Pryde, Huron M.L.A., squelched any rumours that he might retire when he announced at Goderich Wednesday night that he would run again in next year’s election. Mr. pryde made the statement at the annual meeting of the Hu­ ron Riding Progressive Conserva­ tive Association. Mr. Pryde and Arnold Mc­ Auley, Toronto, M.L.A., who was guest speaker at the meeting, ex­ pected the provincial election to come in the spring. George Ginn, Goderich town­ ship, was elected president to suc­ ceed Dr. G. S. Elliott, of Clinton. Bill Ellerington, Exeter, is first vice-president an-d other vice- presidents are Russell Bolton, of Dublin, and Dr. E. A. McMaster, Seaforth. Jim Donnelly, Goderich, is secretary and Peter Eisenbach, Grand Bend, remains treasurer.
