Albert “Bert” Kyle, a native of ICippen and manager of the Edmonton office of the Alberta Pacific Grain Company Limited, retired Thursday after 45 years in the grain business. Mr. Kyle came west as a youth with his parents to settle at We- taskiwin in 1903, the year after the province was formed, He set tled on a homestead at Strome, where two years later he entered the grain business as assistant agent. He was promoted to agent in 1910 and in 1919 was appoint ed travelling superintendent for Northern Alberta with head quarters at Edmonton. In 1928 Alberta Pacific created a north ern division at Edmonton and named Mr. Kyle assistant divi sional superintendent. But 1930 saw consolidation of much of the provincial direction in the head office at Calgary.
