Three playoff series will start
next week to declare Huron-
Perth division winners for OBA
championship play.
Exeter Mohawks will tackle
Strathroy Royals starting Friday,
August 13, in a best-of-seven
for the “B” honors.
Zurich Lumber Kings and
Dashwood Tigers will square
in a seven-game “D” competition.
The two Clinton teams, Colts
and RCAF, play a best-of-five
semi-final to decide who’ll tackle
Mitchell for the "C” title.
Mohawks will be favored to
take the “B” set despite an un
favorable record. Although the
two teams will end up within two
points of each other in the sched
ule, Strathroy has defeated the
Mohawks in the two meetings of
the clubs this year.
Evans Wins Two
George Evans, veteran Strath
roy hurler, tamed the tribe in
both losses but the locals played
two of their worst games of
season against the Royals,
addition, the Strathroy club
never faced Steve Mitro,
hawks top hurler.
Another top series will be
traditional Dashwood-Zurich
sion. Dashwood has a. 3-1 edge in
games this year but the teams
have played to three deadlocks.
Last year, in one of the most
spectacular comebacks in Huron-
Perth history, Dashwood Tigers

though, _
know how the sweet purr of a good engine should sound, you
hear stories about old cars and you get to know how to look
after a car.
You get to know a good car from a lemon because, if
you think about it a minute, you’ll see that we have to
BUY cars as well as sell them. So we have to know what a
good car is. And while we’re about it, we pick up a lot of
interesting stories we think are worth passing along.
It’s our shop talk . . . just like the talk of the railway
men who remember the record set way back by Old No. 580,
or sailors who remember the Big Storm, or army buddies who
remember the Big War which is, of course, the one they
fought in.
I hope you’ll enjoy stopping at this spot every week and
I hope 1 can pass along sonic shop talk that’ll be useful.
I’m not going to get complicated or tcclmical; there are too
many people today trying to bamboozle others with big
words and fancy plu'ases.
All the fancy adornment hasn’t been able to change some
things. Like honest trade, a dollar paid for a dollar’s value.
Whatever you m&y think about the dollar today, it won’t buy
more sound motoring than at our used car lot. As I said be
fore, we have to buy cars as well as sell them and before we
take h car in we make sure it’s a sound, tight, clean car. We
make doubly sure after we have it, and then we offer it on
our lot.
See you next week, when I want to tell you about the
last model in Canada of one of the most amazing cars ever
made.
