The cats scored three big wins this past week to jump within one point of the league-leaders. Percentage-wise, only 13 points separate the two. Mitchell has 11 wins, one loss to Exeter and one tie with Clin ton RCAF. Dashwood has won 10 games, and lost to Exeter and Mitchell. The two ably battle the end of and - home teams may ship. Exeter Mohawks booted away their chances to remain in the running by losing to both Mit chell and Dashwood during the past week. Mohawks still have a mathe matical chance to overtake the leaders but it’s very slim. Never theless Mohawks could be the team that decides who wins the Huron-Perth title because the Ex eter crew has been the only team powerful enough to defeat, both Mitchell and Dashwood. The tribe may still upset the leaders. Zurich Lumber Kings moved into third spot with a 5-3 win over Clinton Radio last week. Clinton Colts moved up to tie St. Marys in the cellar by defeating the stone town crew 8-0. The Satchel Paige of the Huron- Perth, Gord Stock, pitched the Colt win. The Tigers' three wins were over Clinton Colts 18-6, Exeter Mohawks 5-1 and Strathroy Roy als 4-3. Bob Stormes pitched and batted Dashwood to the win over Royals. Stormes and Brown pa-ced the Tigers to the Clinton victory. Bantams Defeat Wingham Team Exeter Bantgms defeated Wingham 8-7 Tuesday night in a W.O.A.A. minor league game at the local diamond. Jim Hennessey scored the tie- breaking run after receiving a walk. He stole two bases and came home on a passed ball, Simon Nagle and Doug Sillery paced the winners with three and two hits respectively. Elmer Ince was the winning pitcher. The team now has a record of one win, one tie and two losses.
