Marks 75 Years
The congregations of the On
tario District of the Lutheran
Church will celebrate the seventy
fifth anniversary of its organiza
tion on Sunday, June 6. Rev. L.
Higenell will deliver the anni
versary sermon .in Dashwood.
Statistics reveal that at or
ganization in 1879, there were
14 pastors, 28 congregations and
2,036 communicant members.
There are now 53

Outlines Duties
The executive, with Mrs.
Rader in the chair, was in charge
of the May meeting of the W.I.
■New programs and new song
sheets were distributed and a
sing song followed. Mrs. M. Tie
man commented on the motto,
“Approve Your Institute to Make
an Improved Institute.”
The roll call was answered by
“How can we improve our In
stitute?” Bonnie McCrae and
Linda Tieman, prize winners of
the music festival, favored with
a piano duet.
For the topic, Mrs. A. Kuntz
conducted a study period of the
handbook, stressing the duties of
the officers and members.
Mrs. E. Koehler and Mrs. M.
Merner, with Mrs. Letta Taylor
as convenor, were appointed to
plan for a booth at the Stephen
School Area's annual Sports Day
to be held in Dashwood in June.
