Moores and Marilyn and Mr, William Elf ord left on Tuesday morning for Windsor to attend a conference at Jjincoln Road United Church. Mrs. Moores will return home the end of the week. The 3-M Club will hold its an­ nual picnic on Saturday evening at 7 p.m. at Queen’s Park, Strat­ ford. Social Evening On Wednesday evening, the 3- M Club regular meeting was held in the form of a hard time so­ cial. There were nineteen present —all dressed for the occasion. Mr. Aimer Passmore received the prize for the best dressed. Mr. and Mrs. Edwin Miller, Mr. and Mrs. Donald Bray were in charge for the evening. A delicious lunch of hamburgs, do-huts and coffee brought an enjoyable evening a close. Love, returned Hospital, Lutheran Church Marks 75 Years The congregations of the On­ tario District of the Lutheran Church will celebrate the seventy­ fifth anniversary of its organiza­ tion on Sunday, June 6. Rev. L. Higenell will deliver the anni­ versary sermon .in Dashwood. Statistics reveal that at or­ ganization in 1879, there were 14 pastors, 28 congregations and 2,036 communicant members. There are now 53 89 congregations, membership is having practically past five years. The congregations comprising the district in 1879 were Delhi, Fiesherville, Floradale, Elmira. Kitchener, Wartburg, Humber­ stone, Gas Line, Jordan, Welles­ ley, Petersburg, Poole, Kurtz- ville, Normanby, Howick, ;Se- bringville, Stratford, Dashwood and others in Eastern Ontario. The anniversary will be a fea­ ture of the District Convention in Kitchener June 7 to 12. A special service will be held in the Kitchener - Waterloo iate on Wednesday, June the speaker will be Grumm, of Fargo, N.D., piesident of the Lutheran Missouri Synod. Flower Day Service The United Church was beau­ tifully decorated for the Flower Day Service on Sunday. Among the lovely collection was a glox­ inia. with 22 red blossoms and seven baskets of cut flowers, in­ cluding lilacs, lily-of-the-valley, tulips, etc,, and then to put an adding touch to the floral dis­ play, a christening service was held at which the daughters of Mr. vin Peariso, Ruth and Mrs. James Marie, were, baptized.
