Mrs. E. Geiger, who has been spending the past weeks with her daughter and son-in-law, Mr. and Mrs. Vernon Spray and family, at Winnipeg, returned home Tues­ day, making the trip by plane. Miss Shirley Chapman, nurse­ in-training at Victoria Hospital, London, visited this week with her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Lome Chapman. Visitors over the weekend with Mrs. Mipnie Sangster and Mr. and Mrs. Robert Sangster were Mr. and Mrs, Doug Sangster and Sandra Lynn and Miss Margaret Sangster, London; Mr. John Mc­ Farlane, Forest, and Mr. and Mrs. H. Stretton, Lucan. Miss Jean Armstrong, London, spent the weekend with her par­ ents, Mr. and Mrs. George Arm­ strong, and Miss Betty Arm­ strong. Auxiliaries Entertained Hensall and Exeter Legion Ladies Auxiliaries were enter­ tained by Seaforth Auxiliary at a social evening on Wednesday. I Mrs. A. Mrs. Herb Stretton, who has spent the past few weeks with her mother, Mrs. Minnie Sang­ ster, has returned to Lucan. Mrs. Edna Corbett, of Exeter, visited during the past week at the home of her son-in-law and daughter, Mr. and Mrs. Harold Parker. The club has contracted for the popular hypnotist, Edwin Heath, M.B.H., to appear in the Hensall Town Hall for three nights, Thursday, Friday and Saturday, March 25, 26 and 27. Mr. Heath, whose amusing show drew large crowds in Sea­ forth, Clinton, Listowel and other neighboring centres, recently came to Canada for a nation-wide I tour. Charter night for the new club will be held on April 2S when W. J. Valentine, of Toronto, national vice - president, and other Kin officers will welcome the club into the Kpnsmen Association. Shows Film Hensall and Chiselhurst Young People’s Union acted as hosts to Carmel Church, Hensall, Kippen and Zurich Lutheran Y.P.U. on Sunday night in Hensall United Church following the evening service. A film “The King’s Man” portrayed the story of Fredrico Massili, native worker amongst the people of Angola, Africa. A quartette composed of the Misses Fay and June Ross, Marilyn Eyre and Mary Lou McLellan sang two selections. Ken Tuckey, president of the Hensall Society, was chair­ man for the meeting. WMS Proposes Birthday Party Friday, Mar, 26 is the date for the annual birthday party of the Women’s Missionary Society of the United Church at their meeting on Thursday afternoon. Societies from Chiselhurst Unit­ ed, Carmel Presbyterian, St. Paul’s Anglican Churches, Hen­ sall, Thames Road and Elimyille Churches and the Evening Auxil­ iary of the United Church, Hen­ sail, w’ill be guests. The speaker will be Miss Bessie MacMurchy, who has speent 21 years as a missionary in India, and who, at present is taking a course in the University of Western Ontario, London. The meeting is scheduled for eight o’clock. Reception com­ mittee will be Mrs. G. Armstrong, Mrs. W. J. Rogers, Miss M. Ellis, Mrs. L. Eiler, Mrs. E. Geiger; program convenor, Mrs. T. S h erritt; decorating, Mrs, L. Eiler; lunch, Mrs. A. Clark. President Mrs. W, B, Cross had charge of the meeting. Miss A. Consitt conducted the de­ votional assisted by Mrs. W. For­ rest. Mrs. W. J. Rogers had charge of the study, assisted by Mrs. Eiler, Mrs. J. Horton, Mrs. T. Coates and Mrs. J. Richard­ son. Twenty - four members answered the roll call. The ladies will quilt in the church school­ room on Monday afternoon. The quilts when finished will be for­ warded to Toronto for overseas relief. Wl Approves Two Donations Mrs. G. Armstrong, president of the Women’s Institute, pre­ sided at the monthly meeting held in the Legion Hall, March 10. Members responded to the roll call with “What I serve to unexpected company". The group voted a donation of forwarded to the Unit Can. Cancer to the Hensall J. Thrifty Kippenettes The Thrifty Kippenettes held their sixth meeting at the home of Mrs. W. Bell Friday evening. Roll call, “A correct posture habit I am practising”, was answered by 14 members, each member giving the right and wrong way of the posture habit she was practising. Mrs. E. Jarrott led a discus­ sion on care of the feet and legs. Mrs. Bell spoke on how to wear our clothes and explained the finishing of the top and the hem of the slip. The girls did two samples, faggoting and shell hem. The next meeting will be held at the home of Marilyn Mousseau Chiselhurst Ladies Pack Korean Bale The Women's Missionary So­ ciety and Women’s Association met in the Sunday School rooms of Chiselhurst United Church on Wednesday afternoon. President •Mrs. William Brintnell conduct­ ed the meeting. Mrs. W. R. Kins­ man was in charge of the wor­ ship period and the scripture was read by Mrs. T. Brintnell. A quartette composed of Mrs. Lloyd McLean, Mrs. C. Coleman, Mrs. T. Brintnell and Mrs, W. R. Kinsman, with Mrs, C. Stoneman at the piano, sang an appropriate number, “God’s Way". The study book, “Where’re The Sun", was taken by Mrs. C. Stoneman, who reviewed the chapter, “Our Back­ yard”. Mrs. Earl Kinsman pre­ sented a temperance poem. During the business meeting, it was reported that a bale valued at $100, had been packed and forwarded fop Korean relief, and that three quilts were recently completed by the ladies. Mrs,- Percy Harris, president of the Women’s Association, con­ ducted a brief meeting during which arrangements were made for flowers for the Easter ser­ vice. Mrs. W, R., Kinsman, Mrs. Carl Stoneman, Mrs. L. Mrs. R. H. Middleton, Mrs. T. Lavender and Mrs. H. Horton were named a nominating committee to se­ cure a. slate of officers to be presented at the April meeting. The president mentioned the District Executive to be held in the Town Hall, Hensall, April 7. An attractive infant's set, the work of Mrs. E. Davis, was dis­ played. Mrs. A. Orr is waiting for more wool from Mrs. Chaf­ fee, Superintendent of the Huron County Children's Aid Society, Goderich, for whom this project was undertaken. ___ ___ ___ ____ Mrs. A. S h i r r a y introduced 1 for the sociaf hour, Mrs. Harry Caldwell, of Kippen, Who chose to speak on 'Home Economics away from Home”. The speaker, having taken seve­ ral trips, others picted “then and plans, mentioned problems, and suggested solutions for siring to travel. Mr. Robert Bruce presented colored films his recent trip to Scotland, -which added to the enjoyment of the evening. A demonstration by Mrs. Davis on “Sewing” with Mrs. L. Chapman acting as model, was instructive. Miss Jean Henderson rendered a lovely solo, ’’Lassie O’ Mine”, with Miss Gladys Luker, accompanist. Mrs. E. Norminton and Mrs. A. Mousseau will be hostesses at the April meeting when reports of standing committees will be given. Mrs. Shirray and Mrs. Chapman were hostesses for the March meeting. Miss A.
