The 'Rev. W. C. Smith ‘performed the ceremony as Miss Alma Margaret' Holt, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Irwin Holt, became the bride of Mr. John Riddock, son of Riddock and the late Mr. drew Riddock, of Sarnia. ■Given in marriage by father, the bride was charming in a floor-length gown of nylon net and Chantilly lace over white satin, with sheer yoke and high neckline. .The long sleeves of lace ended in lily points over the hands. She wore her great grand mother’s gold earrings and a gold locket, a gift from the groom. Her finger-tip veil was held in place by a Calot-style headdress embroidered in seed pearls and she carried a white Bible topped by a purple orchid and white trailing flowers.. The matron of honor, Mrs. R. Farrell, was gowned in a length, off - the - shoulder pink satin and nylon net with matching stole. Her crown satin headdress matched her gown as did the small muff, topped which Mr. groom ■bert and Mr. were ushers. Preceding the ceremony and during the signing of the regis ter, wedding music was played'by Mrs. W. G. Smith. Mr. Dou'glas Gill, as soloist, sang “ Love” and “Because”. Mrs. R. H. Middleton of St. Paul’s Anglican Church, Mrs. S. Dougall, of Carmel Presbyterian Church, and Mrs. George Arm strong of the United Church as sisted in the service. Prayers were offered by Mrs. J. Hender son, Mrs, W. O. Goodwin, Mrs. B. Edwards, Mrs. J. B. Fox, Mrs. Lorne Eilei* and Mrs. W. J. Ro gers. Mrs, T. Sherritt presided at the piano and accompanied the soloist, Mrs. Hilda Haun. Mrs. Norman D. Knox, wife of the new rector of Trivitt Memor ial Church, Exeter, and St. Paul’s of Hensall, was guest speaker. She interpreted the theme “That They May Have Life” to mean giving love and charity, without which a person’s usefulness is limited. She felt people are often turned aw’ay from the church *by leaders who are not spiritually fitted to make prayer effective and increase religious faith. Parents who are concerned be cause their children refuse to go to church when they are old enough to choose for themselves, are often to blame for this situa tion themselves, Their critical attitude toward the church, causes the young people to decide against attending, Leaders of many church’bodies are working towards “church union” which they hope will off set differences between denom inations. But Mrs. Knox felt that they will only be completely re conciled in heaven, where all are a part of something larger than any.
