The treasurer reported a bank balance of $769 on March Total membership is 118. Mrs. William Middleton ported on the sewing and mend­ ing which has been completed and members were reminded that the first Tuesday each month is mending day. Mrs, M. G. Fletcher, reporting for the social committee, said Miss Claypole and staff and the auxiliary president had been entertained by the committee at the home of the convenor, Mrs. H, H. Cowen. Proceeds of $37'0 from the benefit movie at the Lyric Theatre March 4, were reported by Mrs. E. D. Bell. Mr, Edgar Schnell, of Cam­ rose, Alta., visited last week with his mother-in-law, Mrs, Ro­ bert McBride and aunt, Mrs. Mc- Clymont and other relatives. Dinsdale home on Siinday after three weeks’ with her and son-in-law, Mr. Taylor, In Stratford. One of the worst storms of many years hit this district last week. Many local farmers were forced to take tractors, horses or go on foot to the local stores for supplies, after the storm had j snarled car traffic for three days. Rev. A. Hinton Rev. R. A. Brook, of Bluevale, secretary of the Huron Presby­ tery. received word late last week of the sudden passing of Rev. Albert Hinton at his home in Birchton, Quebec. The late Mr. Hinton was mini­ ster to Kippen and Hillsgreen congregations from 1945 to 1952. He moved here from Danville, Que., and the first year here, he met with an accident which con­ fined him to hospital for many 'months. In 19 52 he and Mrs. Hinton left Kippen to take up residence in Birchton, Que. He is survived by his wife, two daughters and two sons, one of whom is in Korea. Mrs. S. Cudmore is spending this week in Toronto with her daughter and son-in-law, Mr. and Mrs. Lome Pinkney. Mr .and Mrs. S. Cudmore and Mr. and Mrs. L. Pinkney attend­ ed the wedding of Mr. and Mrs. Cudmore’s granddaughter in Lon­ don on Saturday. PHONE 71-W EXETEB OFFICE CLOSED Office Closed for Tliree Days MARCH 16, 17 AND 18 Mrs. John Selves Dies in Woodham Mrs. Grace Selves, 85, widow at John Selves, died on Sunday ’at the home of her daughter, Mrs. Mary Jaques, of Woodham. She had been in failing health for some time. Mrs. Selves, the former Mary Grace Kirk, resided in Usborne township following her marriage. Eighteen years ago, Mr. and Mrs. Selves moved to Woodham where Mr. Selves died 13 years ago. Surviving are I three sons, Bert and John, of Usborne, and Clif­ ford, of St. Thomas; one daugh­ ter, Mrs. Jaques; a sister, Mrs. Robert Elliott, of St. Marys, and four brothers, Lewis, of Exeter, John, David and Samuel, all of Dashwood. The body rested at the Bon- tliron funeral home, Hensail, where the funeral service was held on Tuesday, conducted by the Rev. Gordon Wanless, Wood­ ham.
