Some grade standards are well established and clear in mean ing as those for butter, eggs, canned fruit and vegetables and poultry. Vancouver is the only city where the sale of beef by grade is compulsory, but beef is generally purchased by grade. A hog which is too fat when marketed is reduced in price, but when consumers buy cottage roll and bacon they are ungraded and often far too fat. In self-serve groceries, buyers are able to choose according to their liking, so further expense in grading seems unnecessary. The next meeting will be held at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Gor don Wilson. This Week In Whalen By MRS. F.
