The topic was ta.ken by Mrs. S. Baker. Mrs. G. Wildfong spoke on the motto ’'Take pains with your meals and you will not have pains later". Mrs. Mervyn Tieman gave a report of the convention ip. Lon­ don. Several Hallowe’en con­ tests were enjoyed and the eve­ ning was made merry by the fortune telling of Mrs. E. Rader, with a ghost in attendance. Cookies were presented in answer to the roll call and were auctioned by Mrs. Arnold Kuntz in a very professional manner. A table set by Mrs, Addison Tie­ man and Mrs. Ernest Koehler was on display. Mrs. G. Wildfong, Mrs. S. Baker, Mrs. A. Tieman and Mrs. E. Rader were appointed to work With a committee of the Stitch and Chatter Club to plan for catering to a banquet in honor of our Ontario Baseball champions. Awarded Contracts The Dashwood Planing Mills Ltd. have been awarded the fol­ lowing contracts: the mill work for the new 10-room Central Elgin District High School at St. Thomas; all building materials an mill work for the Lucan Pub­ lic School; mill work for the new $300,000 Church of Our Re­ deemer, London. Centralia Ladies Form New Guild A group of ladies from the new Christ Church at Centralia met at the home of Mrs. Frank Smyth on Thursday afternoon to organize a Parachial Guild. The rector’s wife, Mrs. Parker, con­ ducted the meeting. Mrs. R. B. Gates Tead the Scripture. Twelve ladies became members and officers for the coming year were elected. Mrs. De V-iller is president, Mrs. M. H. Elston secretary. Plans are being made for a tea and bake sale in the near future. Doris Brock and Tom Brock were in charge of the programme on “Faith and Evangelism”. Games wer joyed and Taps was sung. Hallowe’en Party Zion school held their Hallow­ e’en party last Thursday evening at the schoolhouse. There was a good attendance. Those winning special awards were: Greta Stephen, Helen Hern, Fred Mil­ ler, Ronnie Hern and Paul Baker. Mrs. Drew had a number of humorous games and relays. The girls of grades 6, 7 and 8 passed home-made candy.
